50 cent's BISD only sells 26k on week 3

total units sold so far: 243,285

by looking at the sales trend, BISD will sell around 13,000 units next week.
looks like this album will struggle to go gold, or maybe will not even reach gold

since 50's contract with interscope is finishing up soon, i dont see interscope that keen on renewing their contract with 50 on a deal that 50 would be satisfied with, so i would think that once his greatest hits album comes out, he will find a new label.

50 should start his own Indy label - he has enough money for promotion, everybody knows him, and he makes a lot more money per sold unit on his own indy label - plus he has the freedom to do whatever the fuck he wants.

Man this nigga is really taking a double dose of his own medicine. He is single-handedly the reason we even look at these numbers and pay attention to shit like the infamous 2nd week drop off. These numbers are fuckin awful and I don't see them getting any better since the album doesn't have anymore commercial songs. What a way to self destruct.

No, not really.

There's no doubt he's getting a taste of his own medicine and to some, such as the og poster and apparently you, it's shocking.  It's how the game is.  Compared to Relapse this has had not much marketing.

Both Em and 50 didn't have some grand marketing scheme. They're both big enough (well 50 was) to promote themselves. Like Em only did the VMA's and one Shade 45 tour that was pretty much it. 50 was everywhere. The difference is in the quality of the music, "men lie women lie, numbers don't"

I'm not going to get into a "quality of the music" discussion.  They both released dope albums.  They both get hated on.  It is what it is.  I've already discussed the merits of Before I Self Destruct in it's official thread.  To even reference Jay's comment is funny.

50 being everywhere isn't a reflection of interscope.  It's a reflection of 50 working on promotion of his album.  Nor is it NOT a reflection of Interscope.  It just feels like 50/Unit had a falling out sometime before TOS with Interscope. 

Maybe Em didn't have more marketing from Interscope but it feels like he did.

The point I was trying to make is that they are well established artists, that know how the system work so they probably don't need Interscope holding their hands when it comes to promoting an album. Or maybe Interscope didn't even believe in the projects, as much as Jimmy Iovine gets hated on for making some questionable single choices, I think he knows what he's doing and 50's whole album sounded outdated and just very plain.

I don't see how quoting Jay's comment is funny, when it's completely on point. We are talking about mainstream artists on a major label here not some independent dudes. For me comparing BISD to Relapse is quite laughable but everybody has their own taste.

I understand what you're saying about them being built artists already but I think it's more they don't believe in the projects.  50 went for an old school sound on purpose.  It's not what's currently selling.  His fault.  The labels to.     

Jay's comment is ass because by that standard what matter is what sells the most.  That's why it's laughable.  He's been saying the same shit for years.  I have never agreed with that statement.  It was funny when he said it at the grammys but beyond that it's a shitty perspective.

How is comparing BISD to Relapse laughable?
