2pac-bootleg history
« on: January 03, 2010, 12:15:38 AM »
i know i've been sleepin for many many years, but im really really curious about this "history" about this 2pac-leaking madness.
are there any threads about who leaked what, n how he got dat, how much me he payed for dat etc etc etc
or r there some active persons/"2pac-historians" (lol) u could get in touch with, who could be kind enuff to speak on this topics a bit?

"dante" was the entrepreneur of this 2pac-leaking-hype right? what started wit what, what was the first song who "slipped" out etc

i noticed, dat every leaked 2pac-song usually exists in various versions? how many versions exists for a 2pac-song at the most?

also, did some1 actually ever got paid for anything, or was ppl only collectin this songs for personal reasons?

is there a list for officialy existin 2pac-material dat we know collectors r secretly sittin on, dat they wont "give up"?

some have 1 version some have a few just depends
some producers other artists etc got paid from 2pac groupies buying songs off them to try n resale
there are a few confiremed unleaked list just google them..none are 100%

by the way add michael ray mccoy to myspace/watch his youtube videos/tell the world how great he is..thank u!!!

A long complex report is what you'd need to read through lol. The DJ Express tapes is a somewhat decent place to start

from what i understand

g litt was responsible for the Makaveli 1-17 discs that hit the streets in early 1997, especially in Detroit and NYC

and chocolate bandit was the one who leaked everything from the studios....along with the realest and kurt kobane

Where can we find this DJ Express thing?

Also yea that was one thing that always got me. How did Dante and co. GET all of these originals in the first place? Did they have a connection to chocolate bandit or something?

This is such a shame though. I was under the impression that pac recorded this flury of material in 96 cuz he knew there was a chance he could go... so he wanted to record a lot so that his voice could be heard for years. And now people are sitting on it over God knows what. And from what I understand Amaru has nearly everything but they are basically done releasing it... maybe they think it won't make money, but this really shouldn't be about the money. they could just set up an online store or whatnot.

Yeah 2Pac did record alot back in 1996 but, he also did back in 1994 as well. The start of those unreleased recordings being leaked and circulating on bootlegs may go back as far as 1997. It's been rumored that back in 1997 some people that worked for Death Row Records began leaking 2Pac material on purpose because Death Row lost the rights 2 his recordings and they had 2 turn over those master recordings. For me personally, it started back in 1997.

That was a rumor. I would say more so along the lines of Realest doing it.

Who can say for sure? In the days when CD sales were lucrative, bootlegging was big business. It's crazy to think about now with how far downloading has come but this thread has me feeling nostalgic for those days when the music industry's big complaint was people seeling cheaper homemade copies of their shit at swap meats and street corners for $8.

I'm sure with the Pac thing, there were plenty of people in the underground who knew people that had Pac recordings to sell. All I remember was the old school tags they had on those Makaveli bootlegs. Had Big coughing and Dre saying "World's most dangerous group" and all sorts of shit.
