Haiti & Us
« on: January 21, 2010, 11:17:54 AM »
Our response in the aftermath of the Haiti quake is very commendable and the right thing to do. However, like with most reporting from our corporate media, we are never told, the reasons behind the reasons given.
We have been told, a billion times, since the quake hit, that Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere. But why? And we have also been told, that Haiti was very ill equipped to deal with the quake in every single respect. Once again, why?
To understand, what just happened in Haiti, we need to know, what happened before 'now' in Haiti. We have to learn of the man-made quakes in Haiti's past, that happened before the present natural quake: http://www.blackagendareport.com/?q=content/why-us-owes-haiti-billions-briefest-history

Most of the aid to the victims of the tsunami in Indonesia got redirected away from the people worst hit and instead were allocated to building new hotels. It is because of this disgusting criminality that I do not give to charity's because it ends up disappearing.

lol the whole relief effort is an excuse to occupy Haiti militarily, politically, and financially.

Southcom in Miami was doing a drill for a relief effort to Haiti the day before the quake hit.

Interesting article, especially the part about America not recognizing Haiti's independence, their influence on Haitian agriculture, and U.S. occupation of the country in the early 1900's.

It is a big disaster for Haiti.  :( People there are now fighting for food and water and there are in a position to kill each other for food. Every must contribute some thing to help them.  :-[ I hope every will do their best and save them.  :-\ I hope this will not repeat in any part of world at any time. :-X
