God I'm white, but I'm pretty down with these guys, i like the debut more, just getting through Contra,

-its weird, i completely hate the style, generally, but some songs are so catchy, i hate myself for liking it, like some MGMT songs

however, it seems they are trying waaaay to hard to be socially ironic/relevant with regards to being a bunch of rich white boy columbia graduates, kinda gets old

Theyre pretty cool. I saw them live in Leeds about two years ago when their debut album came out and they were great live.

I rarely sit down and listen to the albums as theyre not usually my style but theyre a great band.

MGMT's music is actually cool as fuck. Sure, I find their style and look at face value a little pretentious but the music is faultless.

with VP, their debut is a lot better, songs like oxford comma, a-punk and  Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa are dope as shit
