joell gets massive respect for not getting overly excited for simply being signed to dre. this is a smart dude to take a step back and see the bigger picture of how things are handled on that label.

no release date was forthcoming so he didn't wait around (and still would not have come out). he got out of the situation asap went and did his thing, got the SH thing poppiing and now has his 2nd solo release dropping very shortly. might not be on a major label or a heavily promoted LP, but he hasn't dissapointed his fan base with endless promises of a release date that simply wasn't coming.
