The Chronic; not so much for the content, but for what it did, and how timely it was.

2001. but it all depends on the mood, but if I had to choose, 2001 just because i wasnt old enough to truly appreciate Chronic and witness the way it moved the masses. Where as for 2001, that shit changed the way i listen to music lol.

The Chronic  8)

You can usually tell how old someone is or when they got into Hip-Hop by which album they choose.  I'm not saying that's always the case, but it usually is.

The original Chronic started a movement for the West Coast and G-Funk.  If you were from the West Coast, you were getting major label deals, nationwide radio and video play.  Nowadays, a West Coast artist can't even get play in their own backyard.  If a person wasn't around to experience the vibe of the time, then they probably wouldn't even understand.  Some guys know their history despite it being before their time, but it's nothing like living it and seeing it develop and unfold right in front of you.

i feel u on this 1,000 it was the best time in the westcoast ever except when ice t & nwa started out though....  ;) there was so much unity back then on the westcoast niggaz did musik back then cause that was their only way outta their situations so they did it with true love for it, now it's how many points on their contracts they start wit or how many ringtones they sold this week n all that...

^^^ Word.

The two most important events for the West Coast was Straight Outta Compton and The Chronic. Both shaped West Coast CULTURE not just the music.

When 2001 dropped I didn't feel that IMPACT that those two albums had, I lived and experienced the impact of all those albums. 2001 was just a classic album but it didn't affect the West as movement.

actually when nwa & the posse & eazy duz it came out i felt the almost the same type of vibe as well but straight outta compton set it off lovely. i use to live out there til 4 years ago so i lived it as well homie...another time when shyt got hectic was when amerikka's most wanted by cube dropped remember that one...when cube & nwa split up there was smoke in the air on the westcoast haha.... ;)  n when niggaz4life dropped damn that shyt was major 2..
