Yeah it's hard getting a job right now... I'm in college right now so i need the money to pay shit off...I might get a job at wal-mart though lol

I applied for Wal-Mart passed the online test and didn't even get a fuckin interview lol  I felt like a real loser ...like damn they don't even want yo ass lol

Walmart is difficult to get hired at.  I don't know how people get hired there.  And worse its harder 2 get a 2nd job if you work there.  A few years ago I asked if it was possible to do maybe 5-6 hours part time but you gotta work the whole 8 hours for 3 or 4 days   just for the part time.  Picky crappy hiring practices of California.  No wonder the unemployment rate is so high here   And I don't wanna go into other junk that California hiring practices to that angers me right now.

people arent just moving cus of the jobs tho...the cost of living is just so fucked.  CA is great if you HAVE money.  But its a tough fuckin place to try and get money. i think about movin away sometimes...

Ain't that the truth!?  And if threadstarter is still here, instead of burger king or mc donalds, if there's a in n out or starbucks where you live....work there.  You'd get paid more.  I can't stand the smell of coffee beans   And there are no in n outs in the mall.

im sittin on unemployment, but these college loans are gonna kick me in the ass... english degree, i dont regret it, but i got a misdemeanor on my record and i badly regret i never did any internships cause i gotta do them now

If you have no criminal background and half a personality, its shit easy to get a job, even with a fucked up economy. The problem is getting a good job. But this dude was trying to work at burger king. Should be easy as fuck if you apply everywhere and follow up.

Don't know about that. Say you were applying for a job before the recession, you'd be competing with 20 people, whereas the same job nowadays, you'd be competing with 3 - 4 x as many people. But you do bring up a good point, it's even harder to get a good job.

i could transcribe, translate, etc... i just want to work for magazine/website writing about music, movies or fashion ... and they dont hire entry level anymore, those jobs are all interns, so im fucked.

Well the problem is I find in two major categories.One,people go to school without an actual career goal in mind.They go to school,spend two years of their life learning about shit that has no real value.Or two,their going after jobs that already have an over abundance of people.Like every chick I talk to wants to be a beautician or massage therapy,theirs just wayyyy too many people for a few jobs.People dont get creative enough in what they want to do.

Im currently working at a marketing company and going to school for video production.Learning camera work,editing,producing,directing,writing etc.All the behind scenes tools to create or work on a show or film.The class has a 90 percent success rate of people graduating and finding jobs within the first 3 months.They teach you a vast array of skills in the field and you can take it in many directions.

Even something as simple as learning a trade,electrician,plumber etc.Their is always a lot of demand for that type of work but everybody wants to work with computers lol.Ive got friends that I swear are almost half retarded but they learned a trade and make 40 dollars an hour.It doesnt take a genius to make money.


Personally Ive never worked at a fast food place or any low paying job,I just find that sad,but at the end of the day whatever keeps a roof over your head.People just lack the proper motivation and focus to make something of themselves.Its easy to want  money and to be succesfull,its another to put things into motion and achieve everything.
