I actually like Drake better than Wayne. But I wonder if he really did blow up on his own or if it was just a publicity stunt and he was signed to young money the whole time? If he really was unsigned I don't see why Wayne would invest so much into an artist that didn't want to sign to his label at the time, it doesn't seem like a smart business move.

Anyone with half a brain can realize he was signed the whole time.

I laugh at those that think freestyle is just off the dome.
Cool breeze; I'm hopping out of new Beams
My outfit ran me a few G's but none of that will matter if you leave
I used to be an Adam with two Eves and shawtys automatically do me
Excuse me, all that happened before you doesn't matter
I'm a vision of the future climbing the success ladder

That's what Sway and Tech expect when you head to their show.

so what is this proving? that wayne's style came from drake cuz drake is ghostwriting for him?

I also find it hilarious how rappers these days are claiming its a freestyle when clearly its written. I guess drake just didnt have time to memorize his lol

you do know a freestyle can't be written down yeah?

A freestyle isnt something off the top of the dome necessarily, its just lyrics free of form (ie. not a song or a "track" or a fully formed entity). I'd say 50% of freestyles are written and there's nothing wrong with that.

It only becomes stupid if someone is passing it off as if they HAVE made it up on the spot.

No its not one or the other. Read the description of a freestyle. It can be either, the phrase just applies to freeform lyricism, whether written or not.

It really depends on the context of the situation.   The problem is most situations are set up to look like off the dome when they're really not and they should be.

yeah thats the only time when I disagree with the term. There's nothing wrong with writing your freestyle...it only becomes bullshit if you're making it out to be something its not.
