damn I really dig Wyclef's style during the score days

I mean he's just plain DOPE.

from the haunting intro to how many mics (the eerie "pick up your microphones" and "I wear my sunglasses at night" during pras' verse give me chills) to dope ass lines like "I haunt MC's like Mephistophales, Bringin swords and Damacles"

his verses on how many mics, zealots, rumble in the jungle, him singing "another MC loses his life toniiiiiight" - man shit's just captivating because it's his own style

I happen to believe that 96' was the height of everything in America, like it was a steady incline and then the tech boom that happened during the Clinton administration and 2pac and Michael Jordan and so on it was all a culmination that lead to a climax in American culture and standard of living in 1996.  After 2pac died hip-hop slowly declined, after the Bulls Jordan/Pippen/Rodman run and the baseball strike integrity in sports took a decline, and after Bush took office America headed into decline.. but anyway, I'm getting off into a subject more suited for the train of thought....

But back to the subject at hand, yes, Wyclef was fucking dope.  I think him and Lauryn Hill were also in love at the time, and they were both creating some groundbreaking music in those days.  I don't agree with people who say Wyclef completely fell off after that, because I thought his first solo project was good work, and I liked everything he did with Canibus even though it didn't work out in the end.
