Obama's speech to Israel, too little too late?
« on: March 21, 2013, 08:54:42 AM »
"The Palestinian people's right to self-determination and justice must ... be recognized," he said. "Put yourself in their shoes - look at the world through their eyes. It is not fair that a Palestinian child cannot grow up in a state of her own, and lives with the presence of a foreign army that controls the movements of her parents every single day."

"Israelis must recognize that continued settlement activity is counterproductive to the cause of peace, and that an independent Palestine must be viable - that real borders will have to be drawn," Obama said.

Obama even talked about ending construction of homes on land claimed by Palestine. I'm not sure what to make of all of these.

It's pretty simple mdogg, if the US desired to the overnight they could announce that if new settlements do not cease from this moment forward then we shall cut off all aid to Israel. Yet instead of even an implied threat they instead undertake this ceremonial charade of peace talks the only purpose of which is to continue this game of placating the followers. After all it's not how little you do as people just want to be treated as children and reassured by their responsible masters that they do care and do listen to their concerns.
