LOL I knew Toomp from back in the late 80s when he was producing for MC Shy-D so that right there makes him a legend.

nothing wrong with that and toomp has some good beats but this guy just said he slaughtered quik's career, and now we are talkin geography and disrespecting?

when quik dropped q4 which was the last time he was on the charts, his discography sales as artist/producer was already at 90 million (source - arista records). this was 1999 and i know from that time to now hes recieved a plaque or two so add on a couple more mill. plus we won't even know who toomp is in 10 years let alone 20 like quik.

you will know who toomp is and you will know who quik is,if you are truly a fan of hip hop you will know stop kid'n yo self yell

Nobody ever said he's a West Coast producer.

It's just a little weird how close minded West Coast fans can be that they can't recognize talent if it comes from another coast?

Again, Quik is way superior to Toomp, but to say Toomp is wack is just being ignorant.

u listen to Hiphop but haven't heard of a producer who made hits for 10+ years in Toomp? ha

people say things to get noticed, to make noise, raise their profile ... true or not.
Toomp himself probably believes it, and thats fine too, good to have confidence in your own work.

Overall, of course Dre has him ... Quik has him, not sure about Shock G ... close one.
But if I was to hire a producer now on cost, talent and current form, Toomp would be close to the top of the list.

*yawn* although this is somewhat subjective, there are not 10 hip-hop producers better than quik, let alone 5. really depends who you talk to. aside from west coast fans, it is the more knowledgable cats and especially production types who know full well who quik is and what he has done. more like vastly underrated.

Quik is an outstanding musiican,but as a producer he isnt top 10.What has he done in the game to warrant a top ten claim?Yes hes got his own discography and he was a great regional person,but quik isnt worldwide,quik didnt effect the rap game.
