I like most of the songs, but I never want to listen to it.  And I don't know why.

Same for me. I can't explain it either!

Fuck, me too. I even skip them on shuffle and there's at least six decent tracks on the album.

Already Home is the best track by far. Empire State of Mind would be a close no 2, if it hadn't been played to death a week after the album came out.

It feels cliche, formulaic, lazy and average by the standards of Jay-Z. None of the songs are terrible but the most part it's uninspiring as there aren't many songs I would choose to include on a play list. Jay-Z is rapping well within himself and some of the production jumps from the uninteresting to the downright boring.

If Blueprint 2 was simply one cd, the songs would better these ones, no question in my opinion.

DING DING DING.

This shit was too average for Jay-Z.  I would rather listen to older Jay a million times over than any of the songs off this..

Lazy album.

Carried by the names he worked with unfortunately.

first time ive agreed completely with a review

This album was pretty dope and I remember lots hating on this..How do y'all look at it right now?

1. What We Talkin' About - 4.5/5 - Always loved this, perfect intro.
2. Thank you - 3.75/5 - Grown on me, hated Jay's flow on this when it came out but its cool to me now..
3. DOA - 5/5 - Always loved it of course
4. Run This Town - 4/5 - good mainstream rap
5. Empire State of Mind - 5/5 - best single I've heard in a while
6. Real As It Gets - 3.5/5 - Not bad, Jay/Jeezy could do better though
7. On To The Next One - 4/5 - best swizz Beats instrumental in a while..monster  :o
8. Off That - 3.75/5 - again, monster instrumental.
9. A Star Is Born - 4.25/5 - J Cole murdered this
10. Venus Vs. Mars - 4.5/5 - I think re bumping the album just now made me realize how bad I specifically slept on this joint. Jay kills this shit.
11. Already Home - 4.25/5 - Love Kid Cudi, this is a dope collaboration and Cudi kills the hooj
12. Hate - 2/5 - This is still plain weird lol
13. Reminder - 4.25/5 - Again, like "Venus Vs. Mars", didn't realize how Jay raps his ass off on this.
14. So Ambitious - 3.75/5 - Always love Jay-Neptunes collaborations. Another smooth delivery from Pharrell that works.
15. Young Forever - 4/5 - Say what y'all want, love the re-make lol.

Thoughts ??

the beats range from okay to great, but jay's rapping is ALWAYS mediocre.. can't stand his new flow.

2.5....not terrible, got some good songs but there's quite a few weak tracks and Jay-Z's rapping isn't very impressive. A lot of the songs are carried by the beat, hook

forgettable album imo

that's honestly a great way to put it.

it's not something i see myself going back to in a couple of years.

it had it's cuts, but those cuts lacked some replay value.

Yo, get slight buzz and bump this.  Thank you is such an ill track.  Jay kills that last verse.  Album is dope.

Definitly not a classic and a let down after american gangsta but there is till 5 or 6 tracks i listen to now.
