Not necessarily though. Just because their technology is far superior doesnt mean that biologically they are anywhere similar to us. We constantly study other species on our own planet. Studying us could be the equivalent of us studying deep sea creatures.

If they were as civilized as us then they would probably start a war with us, the same way we start wars amongst ourselves. Animals arent even close to as intelligent as humans. But whos to say we are anywhere as close to intelligent as any ET's that could come here. The gap between us and them could be as big as the gap between dogs and us.

And IMO, i think its kind of narcissistic to think they would look like us lol. Nothing on this planet looks like us....so to think that some advanced being from a completely different planet would look anything like us is kind of insane.

sure.....a vast majority of people have good in their heart yet we need to establish a police force to keep those majority of people from robbing, killing, raping and generally just mistreating each other. Think of all the millions of people who have been slaughtered by other humans throughout human history. There is potential for evil in everyone. Sure, maybe not everyone is a murderer, but I believe most humans would mistreat others to get ahead in life if they could get away with it. Look at all the Catholic priests, the people who are supposed to represent the opposite of evil.
