My thoughts are that the next "perfect" time is right before or after the next Slaughterhouse album.

crooked must drop it before the 2nd slaughterhouse...

I think the reality is he has never had as big as a following as his fans want him to have so while he may have been courted by the labels he doesn't have any real pull because his fanbase isn't huge.

Additionally, I still question his ability to create a song.  I've heard a couple dope songs by him but by far his best material is over someone else beats.

Is that from Crooked I ?  And if so, I don't think anyone is suggesting he should kiss anyone's ass (at least not in this thread).  Really, after reading every post in this thread, I think everyone who's posted here would like to see him succeed.  But you can't really be a commercially successful musician if you don't sell your music.

so he doesn't want to kiss ass to get a record deal and he doesn't want to drop independently. What other choice is there? Face it, the album is never coming out.

HERE IS THE ANSWER:

1. Crooked I wants a major label deal so he can do big numbers
2. He wants more creative control than the majors allow.
3. He wants the deal structured like an indy deal so he makes more $$$

that is what it boils down to. in this economic climate, no major will risk it.

what ever happens with Shady will determine when or where his solo drops.

Lets just face the facts he is real hip hop/rap and labels don't want that anymore they want one hit wonder throw away artists. Hip Hop/Rap will never move units like it used to unless they are a "chosen artist" by the record label. Until all the true fans of artists start buying albums instead of downloading they got a chance.

Here is what I don't understand about some of the newer west coast artists. They are only know and have fans on the internet. Why don't they just press up hard copies of albums and sell them from there website and receive full profit on there cd's as long as they ship properly everything would work out fine.

They call themselves hustlers but they ain't full time and "there ain't such thangs of halfway hustlers"... They hustle in the booth recording thousands of songs but they get lazy stopping there. If I was an artist that had fans I would fucking personally ship every album ordered CD one by mother fucking one even if I had to go to the post office and do it my god damn self. Techn9ne knows whats up and he's got it on lock.....

I think Crook needs to go the Tech N9ne route. I mean, that is someone who has their independent game down. He can put out hard-pressed CD's of his solo shit, collabo shit, and artists on his label and move units with it. He's also able to push DVD's and merch. It's because he goes on tour and really fucks with his fans. Yes, the industry sleeps on him but he ain't waiting around for them to co-sign him, he's doing what he can with it.

^ I was in shock when I saw the MERCH he had at his shows. LOL I bet that half a tour bus trailer on his strange music bus was full. He truly gets down with the fans also. I wouldn't call my self a big fan of his but I respect that dudes hustle to the fullest to go check out his show.

I met three of the members of Slaughter House(joel, royce & budden) at a meet and greet and they were also great with the fans Joel was Jokes, Royce was the humblest and most appreciative. After seeing how cool they were I was like fuck it im gonna drop a nice  bit of fetti on there merch to show love back. I asked Joel and he said that the merch would be at the concert but I guess dude didn't show. But I respect them because they stuck around signing shit for free after the sho and were probably the last three out of the building.

But all in all these guy's all need to step up there hustle and start taking the money from the fans because there willing to pay.

That's really what it comes down to. As a fan, you remember the people you meet who are cool and down to Earth and you remember the people who act like assholes. And you got to follow the demand too. Some of my favorite rappers through the years have either had absolutely no merchandise outside of their CD's and DVD's or they throw up this overpriced $40 shit that kind of looks suspect. I mean, cats need T-shirts. It's people that love your music so much they're willing to pay you something like $25 to wear a shirt advertising your shit.

OFFtopic but little something about being down to earth.. I know Joe Budden is one of the most humble rappers EVER. Just yesterday he asked his random twitter followers to come & play kickball with him & his gf. Who else has ever done something like that? Joell also talked about inviting 5-10 random fans to his private BBQ party basically with his family & friends.

Go ahead, tell me who else has asked random twitter followers/fans to come meet him. Or even better play kick ball with him. I'm waiting.

The point is.. when Budden is talking about rapping he's never trying to be nothing but the best. So ofc he doesn't seem to be humble.

Just wait for Shady deal, next SH CD then drop after. Being on Shady will gain some of that Em, Dre crowd, will familiarize mainstream radio station with him more then he can use the "gain" of fans etc.. that to follow for his album.
