Legend Of The Liquid Sword (the actual CD)
« on: December 10, 2002, 09:22:34 AM »
This is close but a bit different than the advance reviewed in another thread.  I'm suprised by the producers on here.  And the book is small, just the one fold, only credits in there.

Tracklistings and producers:
1. Intro
2. Auto Bio
produced by: Jay "Waxx" Garfield
3. Did Ya Say That
produced by: BOOLA
4. Silent feat. Ghost & Street
produced by: Bink
5. Knock, Knock
produced by: Jay "Waxx" Garfield
6. Stay In Line
produced by: Arabian "Q-Base" Knight
7. Animal Planet
produced by: Tyquan Walker co-produced by: Bink
8. Fam feat. Rza & Masta Killa
produced by: Mathematics
9. Legend Of The Liquid Sword
produced by: Jaz-O
10. Fame
produced by: Arabian "Q-Base" Knight
11. Highway Robbery
produced by: Arabian "Q-Base" Knight
12. Luminal
produced by: DJ Muggs
13. Sparring Minds feat. Deck
produced by: Arabian "Q-Base" Knight
14. Rough Cut feat. Armel, Prodigal Sunn & 12 O'Clock
produced by: Rza
15. Uncut Material
produced by: Gza

Executive producer: Gza

Just heard the whole thing once and have a good first impression.  I've been bumping his 3 other albums all week waiting for this.

Almost one month away till his album drops.  Gza's going to release a gem here ladies and gentlemen, don't say I didn't tell ya.

Where do you think I got all this from? I got the CD this morning.
Maybe it's just where you live.

I'm in Canada and usually we get shit on for release dates and distribution.  And I have no clue about those two albums.

I don't know if it's dropped in the UK this week, i'll have a look around tomorrow. Talking about the booklet, how's the artwork? Most of the Wu affiliated releases always have impressive artwork, and I find that GZA's booklets are always quite small too. How's that Jaz-O produced track btw?

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

The cover is nice (I'm sure you've seen it), the book is just one fold and only has credits, the actual CD is black with the Gza logo and the album title.

The Jaz-O track isn't one of my favs but good anyways.  I haven't found any tracks on the album yet that I have to skip.  I like it more with each listen.  It's got some great production.  Some real Wu-Tang shit.

I forgot to mention the worst thing about this CD...it's EDITED, I got the real version with the parental advisory label on it and it's still edited.  I checked out the MCA website and mine's not the only one, some other people made posts about the same thing.

Someone from MCA explained:

yup..gza brought the heat again..not suprisingly

if you've heard the cd and you've been with wu since protect ya neck you'd know the answer to the reason why the cd is edited...

It's fine not to have any cursing or anything like that, but it's got the parental advisory sticker and songs are edited.  That's bullshit.  It would be better if they didn't curse in the first place so it sounds better.

Yeah.. that wack if they edit Cusswords cuz if they feel that aint appropriate.. then dont cuss when you rap. He shouldn't hold back and edit his spit.

I understand if it's one of those touchy subject edits they do on all those Eminem cd's... like when you talk about 9/11 or tha Columbine shootings.. cuz that's understandable I guess.

I aint really too down with all that Wu Tang head shit... but I alwayz thought GZA was sick.. real sick... I feel like buying this cd but I dont know about buying off tha back just like that without listening to it first.
