i was not in tune with what was happening in hip hop at all during that time period and I heard that song ALL the time in 05/06/07

I remember being really impressed with Dre when I learned he produced that track.....it was crazy to me that 20 years after his beginnings in music, he produced such a simple catchy dope pop song that wasn't just like/derivative of much other work he was known for. it felt real refreshing for a dre track imo.

Oh, I don't really watch music videos. Never saw it. that's partly why I didn't even know dre produced that song till I had another return to hip hop phrase in '07 and at the recommendation of a co worker started checking out the Game's work. I usually recognize a Dre beat a sub-woof away, but this one surprised me in a good way. I mean once you know it's Dre, it fits in context but it's still fresh.

Lol for real, considering 2001 was his last solo album in 99 and Bad Intentions was also the last time he pushed a single as a solo artist its a pretty fucking stupid question...

the wiki page says "The song debuted on the UK Singles Chart at #4 on January 19th 2002, staying on the charts for 11 weeks." no idea about the US.

it did have a proper big budget video and everything. even casual hip-hop listeners seem to know and love the track.
