Wait, wait, wait...

Quote
A "hit record" is a sound recording, usually in the form of a single or album, that sells a large number of copies or otherwise becomes broadly popular or well-known, through airplay, club play, inclusion in a film or stage play soundtrack, causing it to have "hit" (appeared on) one of the popular chart listings.

Basically all it takes is sell a lot of copies.

"Crack-A-Bottle" was number one & it doesn't count because it's bad? What a joke of a thread then.

Why don't we all just say his last "hit record" was "Still D.R.E." or "The Next Episode" because those are classics & we all love them? ::)

Last Year, he produced, rapped on, and won a Grammy for Crack A Bottle ,#1 (Top 100) record in the country, single sold 1x platinum. ONLY HIT RECORDS DOES THAT.

Didnt he make the beat for that "Rich Girl" track with Gwen Stefani as well? I'm sure that song was pretty huge

Dre didn't even produce Bad Intentions.

co-produced and mixed... it wouldn't be a banger hit without dre's touch ;)

It was motherfucking Crack A Bottle, just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's discounted retards.

People are confusing a Hit Record with a Good Record. Soulja Boy's Crank Dat was a hit record, even if i was a piece of shit. It just shows the mainstream doesn't know shit about hip-hop or rap. As such hit records don't mean shit now.

So it was Crack a Bottle.

Because that literally was the last track he was a producer and a rapper that was a hit on the charts.

I can't beleive the topic starter suggested Still D.R.E was the last hit. Dre had at least another 2 hit singles off 2001 alone. Where have these people been?

Judge 4 yourselves, but like I said Technically Crack A Bottle was the last "hit" he was on.
