Actually, with the right beat, and decent motivation Mase used to GO HARD on some shit, COC, obviously but there were a few gems off his 2nd CD "Double Up", etc, it was all the pop shit that ruined him in a lot of cats eyes.

Kinda have to defend Puff here, but he gave him that check for Double Up off the success of Harlem World his debut. When he "found the Lord," Puff was left high and dry, out 2 mil, out a rapper who could have helped Bad Boy in the millenium, and the nigga wasn't even gonna promote the shit.

For 2 mil, I'd hold a grudge too.
