Favorite Guru Jazzmatazz Album?
« on: July 22, 2010, 12:09:36 PM »
Many people consider the first one as the best album overall because Guru was able to successfully combine jazz and hip hop together and come out with a banger.  I actually like the second one more because some 1993 east coast hip hop beats (like the ones on Vol. 1) are a bit "too old-school" for me since I'm young and although I love Volume 1, I'll be playing the 2nd one a lot more because as a whole I like the sound more.  I'd consider Jazzmatazz Volume 1 as the best album out of Guru's Jazzmatazz catalog, but since I'm asking for your favorite (which can be the best, doesn't have to,) for me I'll pick Jazzmatazz Volume 2.

Vol I and II are both superb. I went for vol II just because I found the songs a little more memorable.

I love jazz and Gang Starr but none of the Jazzmatazz series really stood out to me. I'm sure i'll give each one another listen.
