Crooked I Commences "Hip-Hop Weekly Reloaded" - By : Rud - August 11, 2010

April 4th, 2007 saw the start of an incredible year for Crooked I. The commencement of the series called Hip Hop Weekly that saw Crooked pick a famous hip hop instrumental every week - for a year - and rip it! Those 52 weeks, finally ending on April 3, 2008 had helped captapult Crooked I back to the forefront of those minds that had forgotten him. From there he continued to release news music and of course formed Slaughterhouse with Joe Budden, Royce 5'9" and Joell Ortiz

Now he's back again with the announcement Hip Hop Weekly Reloaded, a new series that will see him once again ripping well known instrumentals. First up for week one, Gang Starr's "Mass Appeal"

Crooked I - Hip-Hop Weekly Reloaded: 01 - Mass Appeal

We'll be your number one source for Hip-Hop Weekly Reloaded as with the original. Expect an archive page to be announcenced with the next update as with the first Hip Hop Weekly.

I'm in two minds about him doing this.  Whilst I thought the first hip-hop weekly series was absolutely amazing and one of the best things in hip-hop,  I feel that doing a second series will blight the memory of the first and borders on overkill.  You can have too much of a good thing and Crooked should try to avoid over-exposure and saturation.

That said I will check this out though.

His success doesn't bother me, as long as he keeps dropping dope music. This can only be a good thing. 8)

That being said... Crooked I killed this beat!

Crooked I is one of my top MC's but does this just mean it's going to be at least another year before a solo album ??? ??? ???

This series will bring you more new music than a solo album would. Don't complain.

I enjoyed the previous weekly series, so I'm really looking forward for the Reloaded Series. Always good to hear Crooked spit over classic beats. Hope he will chose some classic beats ! Would love to hear Crooked over Biggie's One more chance Remix

New Music? He recycles other people's beats.

Wake me when this bum is able to release a track without jacking classic beats.

Why do you people not understand anybody can throw a verse or 2 over somebody elses beat. It aint that hard, constructing your own songs, beat, hook, etc and constructing a whole album is a LOT more rewarding than a freestyle.

When I read this first I was like: that's not the smartest thing! for aforementioned reasons but now that I checked it, I love it. I could do with a second season of HHW! 8)

Sure its more rewarding whenever the quality is there.. most of the time the dopest shit is mixtape shit..

I think this will be dope. I would like to see an album though..

Crooked does it better than 99% of the people he takes the beat from

with that said I prefer Crooked for his full songs like the Block Obama 2 EP, Pigface, Young Boss 2 and the 100-200 unreleased songs that have leaked.

HHW shit is still dope but I prefer hearing Crook outshine rappers on tracks like Scarface, the rest of SH, Raekwon, Mos Def, Kurupt, Snoop and everyone else he's worked with

In fact: Crooked I is generally better on jacked beats than on original beats.

You must be retarded, because he's dropped plenty of project's with original beats.

BTW: Planet COB Vol. 1 drops next week!

lmao. You Crooked stans are really amusing. Like stated above, crooked has no idea how to compose songs (ok, rappers like Snoop are the same in this aspect, but he had Dre), all he can do is rap his 'freestyles' over a beat.
PS: And I do know that he has some legit songs. But you can't tell me he prefers  to release his 'freestyles' over the intenet for free for the rest of his 'career' instead of making some original music and sell it to a wider audience. Obviously, he  isn't able to create a decent album because he is nothing but a  mixtape rapper.
And please don't tell me he has no album yet only because of label politics :D
