I'm from Kansas City, and it's pretty much impossible for any rapper from here to make a decent album.  The hip-hop culture here is just about being ignorant and being ghetto  more than it is about making great music.  I give Tech 9 credit for not going the route of the rest of KC, and being by far the best rapper in the area, but to say his albums were the best in their year? You got to be smokin crack man...  but ohhh well, nice thread anyway.

My 2008 Nas album and 2009 Eminem album picks weren't really compliments, but rather a statement on just how far hip-hop has fallen off.

...My critique of your albums is that you didn't show the West Coast any love.

...I like that you mentioned Wild Style, that was a great project all around, one of the most important things ever done in hip-hop.

...I noticed a couple people now have picked Madvilian, maybe I will have to check that album out myself.
