It all began with a blank piece of paper and a pencil. No money, no Jesus-piece, no Bentley. No Patrone, no Bathing Apes, no gated mansions. Just a blank piece of paper and a pencil.

13 years after penning his first rhyme at the ripe age of 12, Nukky Grissom is right back where he started, except nowadays the paper isn’t blank anymore. Instead, the pages are filled with creative penmanship and witty punchlines, youthful exuberance and mature conviction. They’re filled with juvenile tales of growing up and introspective sentiments of growing old. The paper isn’t blank anymore.

Over the last few years, Nukky has slowly began paving a lane for himself by consistently releasing new material as well as perfecting his stage show, opening for fellow Canadian acts such as Maestro Karl Wolf, Classified, Moka Only and Choclair.

In 2008, Nukky released The Murdersound Mixtape, alongside underground rap group Highalearning, and followed that up in 2009 with the release of The Jimmy Cliff LP, an experimental hip-hop/reggae mash-up that served as Nukky’s first solo endeavor. He quickly followed that up several months later with Where Grissy Happens – The Mixtape, which was released as a free download on opening night of the 2010 NBA Finals.

Naturally poetic and unnaturally gifted, Nukky is primed to leave his stamp on the game and when he does, he’ll have that blank piece of paper to thank.
