If Dipset showed up on Detox, half of Dubcc would jump out of a window.

The people on here are fucking amazing. They want to see The Game who is possibly the worst rapper in recent history on there but having dipset on detox would be selling out.

Dre better not bring any cliche'd west coast shit to the table. He better find some ghost producers to track down some samples to destroy.

check the main section, there's already a topic about it.

besides, why are you excited?
last time i checked, you stated that dre beats are average

lol nothin from the first post indicates excitement to me  :-\

anyway, ill be curious to hear if anything actually comes of this  8)

did you overlook this part:

8)  8)  8)
?

I don't even check the "main" section that much (Outbound is the main section to me).  Dre's beats have been average, but Dre always have potential, as shown in the past.  If you don't think he's still capable of making a masterpiece you overlooking the man.  And Dre working with artists like Dipset?  That alone should give you enough reason to put on your stunna shades and smoke your cigarette.

I'm more excited becuz I Wanna hear Dipset, not so much a Dre beat...  Which again is why I posted it here..
ok, i understand that you want to hear dipset, but won't it bother you if the dre beats turn out to be average?

Yeah, it would, you're right.  I think it wil still be cool to hear tho, just cuz of the two contrasting styles.  But given that this is such a unique collabo, I'm gonna assume (hope) they will both bring their A game and not release something "average".  And if it comes out on Detox, there's no doubt in my mind every song on that album will be great.
fair enough.

Also, I think that maybe all of these "sub-par" beats from Dre for other ppl in recent years are a direct result from him putting all his effort into Detox.  If your friends wanna pay supreme amounts of money for your throwaway beats, why not.

I know about Dre being an OCD perfectionist, but I think that may be more for projects he's directly working hands-on with more.
well i'm sure he's extra stressed with Detox, but i doubt that his mentality is totally different when he works on other projects.

Do you also think Dre's production in recent years have been "sub-par" for him?  Not the quality/mixing so much, but the actual composition and complexity of the beats themselves.

no, i think he's been quite consistent during his whole career( though i don't like the music from the world class wreckin' cru).

and i would list Don't get carried away, Legend of the fall offs and maybe even Underground + Minority report as some of his best work.

all of Dre's instrumentals are simple, i don't understand why some think that it's something from recent years.
to me, simple is not a bad thing. dre knows how to include the right amount of elements in a beat.

so i understand that those who like complex beats, may not like dre's beats.
but the leftover & simple loops statements that i sometimes read on here, don't make sense(not directed at you)

Yeah, I guess you right.  And I was thinking of the beats I didnt like over the years (Blue Carpet Treatment, Kingdom Come, The Big Bang) but then I thought of beats I really enjoyed off each of them (Imagine, Minority Report, Dont Get Carried Away).  So hes still doing something at least half right.

But Ill always stand by: if you give some of these younger slash less known beatmakers the mixing mastering and instrument access that Aftermath has, some of them would make some upto par beats for Dres level!

(Which also leads into exactly how much Dre still does, and what percentage of the job his team and staff handle, but I really dont want to get into that argument, cuz quite frankly Dre has earned his accolades)
