woof

In 1997 Tommy D was hired by Michael Jackson's team via Worlds End Management to produce a remix for 'Is It Scary'. Sony gave him the acapella. The goal was for the remix to have the Death Row sound.
While Tommy D was working on the remix, 5 armed people burst into the studio (The Enterprise in Burbank, CA) tied him up with the staff and Carl "Butch" Small (percussionist at Death Row Records) then robbed all the synthesizers, drum machine and bass.
MJ's team stayed quiet about this event because they didn't want negative publicity. The next day Tommy D had a session planned with KoRn but didn't have his equipment anymore. Snoop Dogg heard about the incident and gave Tommy D a $5000 check to help him.

I like the beat, but I don't know, shit doesn't work together. On first listen anyways.

Perfect timing for Halloween...

That's random as fuck.

If MJ wanted the "Death Row sound" why not hire Daz, DJ Quik, or Johnny J? All whom actually had names around that time. Or why not buy a 2Pac verse? The world would've went nuts over that.

Because Daz had ghosters and had left for a short stint in 1997, Quik wasn't on Death Row by technicality, and Johnny J stopped working with Death Row. Lol.

So I guess they finished the record before those guys broke into the studio?? lol.

I actually really like this beat. In a strange way its 'Death Row RnB sound' meets 'Micheal Jackson's HIStory sound'. In that regard, I actually find it really cool, definitely one for the archives.

This is dope, really good combination.  Would love to hear a whole album of MJ over these sort of beats (like maybe his Dangerous album mixed with g-funk like this), even though it's impossible  ;D
