I told y'all way back when Nicki would do between 300-400K 1st week. I said she would fall just short of Gold 1st week & go platinum eventually; but the platinum in 1 week talks were ridiculous.

Good #s for Kanye but I expected even more (600-700K) but 500K is by no means a disappointment it any fashion.

BBB was a major single this year. Maybe you're right, he wouldn't of seen 100K, but he without doubt would of had better numbers than releasing the album seven months after the single dropped.

Well Banks went almost gold 1st week on his first album. Granted G-Unit and 50's popularity was huge back then.

Looks like Kanye will soon be on his way to cracking a million, Nicki has a good chance as well. Banks had a great album, but like it was mentioned, its release came too late after he dropped a successful single. I'm not saying he lost steam lyrically, but chart-wise, he hasn't followed through with a second hit. Nowadays even if the timing on the album release is right, one hit can't guarantee huge first week numbers. Look at Nelly. "Just A Dream" was top 5 on the Hot 100 chart, now he's blaming managment for poor promotion because 5.0 didn't have a huge opening week.

Hard, I reckon banks could do good numbers if he keeps up the constant promo, hopefully the sales stay consistent, either way he dropped a dope NYC album, I copped, and I don't regret it a bit.
