Took a listen and TBH this album is kind of a let-down. Probably because I was expecting this album to sound like an authentic grimey New York album with Saigon spitting heat over beats by the likes of DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Large Pro, RZA and 9th Wonder. IMO the best track on this album is Bring Me Down Pt. 2, but I'll give it a few more spins and try to get it to grow on me. Still gonna pick up a copy to support Saigon though.

The album is a big, big letdown for me. It's not wack, but I expected Saigon to spit over hard Just Blaze beats with sampled & classy hooks.

Damn how dope would that be if he did make an album with new york producers like premo/rza/pete rock, buckwild, a real eastcoast grimey album (hope he goes that route with his 2nd album, if he ever makes one)

Agreed. I feel like the replay value will be huge on this and more so, it's not just lackluster content led by amazing Just Blaze production. Saigon has some fucking content to him. I don't know we'll see how it stands up to repeat listenings but right now, I'm very impressed. And after "Warning Shots 2", I was a little nervous but this was the kind of album that hip-hop needed.

And for people who want that grimey NY shit, just pop in that first "Warning Shots".
