Dead!!! crazy beat, but something really off with the mixing (mostly the low-end/vocals, unfinished?) like that Reunion joint.
Soft Rhodes
I Just Want To Fuck
Superstar (sample is bugging me, anyone?) edit: Jonathan Rotem's 'Sneakernight' beat...can't be the original though?
The Ocean - first ever Game feat. Dre track?

 8) Dope mixtape. However its in reality a ton of left overs game put together. For example the track with doug e fresh, krs1, and big daddy kane is an LAX leftover. Game said in some interview that he had those 3 on a track for LAX but the hook wasn't tight enough and it didnt fit the album. Said he would probably keep it for himself in the vault or throw it on a mixtape.

Not bad.....
IMO this would have been better left being just 1 disc.
I think alot of the early tracks meant for RED have been leaked or scrapped...this mixtape being more of them.
The best release/project Game's had in a loooooooooooooong time.
Although I still need more time to forget about the last 2 years of songs that never should have been made available to the public.  ;)

I think the last couple of years Game has been testing the waters to see if he could experiment with different styles and a lot of those efforts have been criticized heavily but I think its safe to say that this mixtape more than makes up for those previous efforts and I dont see a reason that we shouldnt be excited for R.E.D. album now. Think about it, 29 tracks in one night just for us fans to show us that he has heard our opinions and has decided to do something about it. I give Game mad respect, there are only a few artists that do that for their fans. Guys like Crooked I, Tha Dogg Pound.....This is why I love west coast music. These guys may not sell platinum records anymore but they still show love to their fans. Purp & Patron is a good tape and I personally think its take a fat shit on some of the mainstream garbage that has been coming out lately. Big props to Game for doing this. R.E.D. album will be a success, I have no doubt of it.

****By the way.....Game's mixtape has reached over 100k downloads so far. Its only been out for a few hours and its already blown up. Crazy.

its gonna suck.

Give it a chance, you might like it Cham.

The Kill, L.A. Times & R.I.P. Story are dope. The rest is average/"whatever" to below/"bleh".

West Coast forum though, I guess I should expect big support for it by most of you.

MOON KNIGHT summed it up in two words, "Not bad". May bump a few songs a few more times, but that'll be about it. The beats aren't very special, his lyrics have been identical for years & years now. Style just went stale. If some of you guys can fuck with the same sound over & over again, you're entitled to do so.

Haha, cause DAZ be droping albums every 4 to 5 months. Give him credit DAZ be flooding us with music too he just hasnt had that mainstream attention in a long time. DAZ got his is start in the begiing of 1990s its hard to stay relavent for 20 plus years. I give DAZ mad props and his new album is going to be really good, check the earlier posts on this forum to get some more info about it. The single "D.A.Z." is on the DubCNN.com front page right now as well.

Cham: Your right man, to each his own....See for me I grew up in L.A. on the early 90s G Funk stuff...So its hard for me to transition into some of this new stuff coming out these days but thre are a lot of guys that are dropping some amazing music these days and I know that old school west coast sound is all but gone....I still crave it though.

Y'all crazy if you ain't feeling the ocean or not impressed at how smooth heart breaker is.  Maybe ya headphones broke.

The other newer hip-hop material doesn't vibe well with Game but at least he got something for everybody

Pretty much every rapper has their own style and it hardly varies.  He's trying different styles but gets knocked for doing so.  Some worked for him and some didn't.  That's the problem with a lot of fans is that they don't allow their favorite artist or artist they enjoy to grow.

Anyways, back to this mixtape.   Done with the 1st disc and it's pretty good.  Don't know why "Children's Story" is on this though.  It was on a previous mixtape.  Hate the hook on "Suu Wuu" though, lol.

Well by your logic maybe he should try doing a country duet with Garth Brooks or maybe a rap song on a Muppets album with Kermit The Frog.  ::) Artistic growth is one thing....but shit is still shit no matter if you like the artist or not. Tommorow Game could release a track of him pissing in the toilet and you'd have the same dickriders saying "The Game is back" blah blah blah blah blah blah.

LMAO, you're an idiot.  Where in my "logic", as you stated, does it say that he or any rapper, should try doing a Country duet?  Hell, since you brought it up, if an artist wants to do a duet with another artist from a different genre, why not.  If it comes out dope cool, if not, atleast the artist knows that it didn't work.  Being artistic means thinking outside the box and taking risks.  Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.  But that kind of "logic" might be beyond your pattern of thinking.

I don't know how many true Game stans like that are left. But I mean certainly if people think this mixtape is something special then they are giving it some personal advantages & that's fine. I guess we all give our favorite artists more props regardless of the work.

When you're a rapper like Game, you're music is based off of making great songs. Game, lyrically is just miserable. So in order for him to stand out, he needs stand out tracks. He needs a great beat, with a really nice hook, his flow has to be on & he has to make something with a message. Like most of his work on "Doctor's Advocate".

He isn't making a stand out tracks by recycling the same "six-fo'", "Cali weed", "grippin' chrome" & namedropping lines & he can't carry himself lyrically on a one disc mixtape, let alone a two. So it can't work for him.

Game is only good when he's making meaningful, album-worthy songs & he isn't making those on a mixtape.

You have a valid point but when he made DA he had a number of trials and tribulations that he was going through. Those things gave him mad substance for his album and it made a huge difference but these days its like hes just making music that he can vibe and smoke to which I dont blame him for doing. Why not make music that makes you feel good, contraversy sells but is it worth the drama?
