40 Glocc arrested in San Bernardino

San Bernardino police have arrested Colton-area rapper 40 Glocc on suspicion of various weapons violations after he was carrying a loaded 9-millimeter handgun while parked in his sport utility vehicle, officials said.

The rapper, born Lawrence White, was arrested Sunday afternoon with a semiautomatic handgun in the passenger area of his sport utility vehicle, said Lt. Jarrod Burguon of the San Bernardino Police Department.

White, identified by police as a member of the Colton City Crips, was arrested less than a block from the Arbor Terrace Apartments, an area he and other gang members are banned from congregating near under a 2008 court injunction, Burguon said.
Burguon said police patrolling the Village Green Apartments in the 2100 block of West Chestnut Street in San Bernardino about 4:30 p.m. Sunday approached White and several other people loitering near a carport area.

White, also known as Big Bad 40, was sitting in a black Range Rover with other gang members when police found the gun, Burguon said.

White, who is signed to Infamous Records and G-Unit Records, was arrested and booked at the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino on suspicion of various weapons violations, Burguon said. Several others were arrested at the scene for violating parole, he said.

A judge ruled in November 2008 that White was a member of the Colton City Crips and that he would be included in an injunction prohibiting 60 gang members from congregating near the Arbor Terrace Apartments in Colton.

White had denied being a member of the gang and fought the injunction.
