It not as bad as all of the Snoop Dogg topics. They get extremely boring after a while, worse when it gets closer to his album. At least this time both Dre and Quik will have fresher material to judge it on.

Like some on this post said, they don't even compare.

With that said, we should appreciate both for putting music out after decades of careers. Quality ass music in David Blakes' case.

If anything, Kush is more comparable to Luv Of My Life.

 I'm a big fan of Dj Quik and I think "Book of David" will probably be good.  I'm also looking forward to "Detox" and am not nearly as convinced as some seem to be that it's going to be bad.  Having said that, I'm not too fond of the "I Need a Doctor" track.  Like most, I would have preferred that Dre pick a single that he produced himself.  As it stands though, I hesitate to compare these two songs too much, because it seems more like Dj Quik's song versus Alex Da Kid's song, rather than Dj Quik's song versus Dre's.  I guess I'd rather just wait until both albums are out and compare the entire albums.

Had to vote for Quik. Great song, but not really single material to me. Quik always brings it. And, regardless of Dre's 1st single choice, Detox is going to be fine (y'all know it will be too)

dj quiks track is nice! much better than i need a doctor, god that song is atrocious and dre is funny as hell thinkin he is foolin anyone with those eminem written lyrics all the time.

It may be similar to a lot of his older material, but don't forget that Quik had drastically changed his style for quite some time. Dude went through his experimental/pop music phase for a long ass time.... he's just now getting back to his own style again, and I think that's what a lot of people (me included) like about "Luv Of My Life". It's good to see an artist just doing them. It's clear that Dre is just jumping on some bandwagon with "I Need A Doctor", which has pissed a lot of people off.

^I'm like getting off the whole Dre/Quik thing though. I'm more focusing on Quik's song. Duplicating old sounds is "ehh" especially when you're not lyrical at all & can't make it sound significantly different.
