SSLP > Infinite > SSEP > MMLP > Eminem show > anything else

Now people want to act like they are some hardcore Em fans by saying that SSLP or Infinite were his best albums; but where the fuck were all these voices back in 1999 and 2000.  It wasn't until after the MMLP came out that I finally started hearing Eminem receiving acceptance from fans.  Now it's like an overreaction with fans going back and saying that SSLP was his best album... but I question that...

Eminem himself said he got better and progressed as a rapper and producer with each album (up until falling off with Encore), and I agree with that.   SSLP was a great album but MMLP was even better (Dre said it's the closest he ever came to producing a perfect album), and then Eminem Show was pretty much a flawless record.  Then Eminem reached the climax of his career with "8 Mile Road" and his biggest hit ever and most memorable track "Lose Yourself".

...so anyway, my point is that yeah, the Slim Shady LP was a great album.  But how many people who love it now were supportin it when it first dropped?   For me, it was enough to hear he was signed to Aftermath back in 98', but for most it took his appearances on Dre's album and the MMLP before they finally started jumping on the bandwagon.

I bought the SSLP when it first came out in spring of '99 and it's been a top 10 album of mine EVER since

Me too. since my name is video 8) 8)

I notice people think Encore is one of his worst. Whatīs the deal?

Sure, the content was pointless but I think he was on point with his rapping.

My 1st Single
Toy Soldiers
Never Enough
Rainman
Ass Like That
Spend Some Time

I could go on..

I would put Encore next to Eminem show rather than saying it's equal to Recovery.

I think if Eminem cut songs off of Encore & shortened it, it wouldn't have gotten hated on.

Still his second worse, no matter how you slice it. But it wouldn't get the whole "This is awful" thing.

Evil Deeds
Never Enough
Yellow Brick Road
Like Toy Soldiers
Mosh
Rain Man
Spend Some Time
Mockingbird
Crazy In Love
Encore

& add "We As Americans" off the bonus songs & throw in Em's usual skits & you have an album people wouldn't say is "complete shit".

It's just every other song I didn't name gave the album such a terrible reputation.

I still prefer an album with 20 tracks and then bonus tracks, and then for half to be good, than an album with 15 tracks. Maybe you donīt like some songs but someone else may like them.
Itīs just that they compare it with Recovery, I donīt get that, because Recovery only had a hand full of decent (not even really good) tracks.
The best track on Recovery wouldn't even be on Encore, and not just because of the difference in styles. Also, the worst track of Encore (Big Weenie) was just to make a point, all that dissing that he did.

I agree but it would be his worst song if you look at the hook. Maybe Puke..  The rest is just great to me.. any thoughts?

I mean, I'm a fan. So I enjoyed the album. So I guess you're asking the wrong person. I mean, I didn't think it was "great", but I liked almost all of it.

His bullshit tracks I didn't take seriously & I guess that's why I didn't straight up hate them.

Iīm also a fan, but I still like to think I can be pretty unbiased about music. I straight up hate Recovery.
But whatever, his bullshit tracks still make sense on some level, Big Weenie and Puke are straight up diss songs.
The only meaningless track is Just Lose It, but I think thatīs just a tradition track like Without Me and Real Slim Shady.

The only thing I donīt like on some tracks is Eminem trying to sing when he clearly canīt sing. Still better than autotune though.

^I think once Interscope realized Eminem had sex appeal to women they did whatever they could to add to it. Girls love "Hayley's Song". Once that came out, I think they tried to make him sing whenever he could lol.

But yeah, I didn't like Recovery, but the fan in me allowed me to enjoy it for what it was.
