from a quick skip through this sounds like one of his best records and a lot better than Guilty By Affiliation. A lotta funky bass lines and beats that don't sound that generic compared to his last one, some scratches and even from this slight impression I can that tell the hooks are way better. It's a lot more 90's oriented.

Still guys, I just skipped it and have to bump the real deal tomorrow or when I have more time to enjoy it - but as far as I think right now I'm pretty sure I'm buying it!! Support Dub C!

^ I agree so far the hooks are better; probably largely due to the fact that if I remember correctly, Ice Cube did the majority of the hooks on Guilty By Affiliation, and Cube's hook game today generally consists of repeating a sentence over and over again lol.

and you're so damn right with this one! I never understood what they did on GBA... I mean the beats were really cool for the most part but it sounded like they only had some verses and didn't want to put too much effort in hooks and as if Cube just said "fuck it, let me just put some shit on there" lol. This heavily weakened some songs for me.

yeah, this is way better than GBA.  it's more consistent.  i guess it does help that Ice Cube is not too involved with it.  i like the fact that's it's only 12 tracks, no filler.  great westcoast sound.

1. Revenge of the Barracuda - 4.25/5. Nice to hear Crazy Toones. Beat is hard and WC is rapping. "From an era before the tight clothes and mascara" lol, u know WC goes hard.

2. You Know Me - 5/5. Banging west coast shit. WC tears it up. "shake up the audience like Mike Vick walking in the dog show" LOL. Always love hearing Maylay; can't wait to hear more from him. His 2 street albums were flawless. Ice Cube comes in last as the legendary veteran and his verse is very fitting on here.

3. Reality Show - 4/5. Hard beat & hook. WC rapping hard on here for sure. "They can't bullshit dub; my pants ain't tight enough to be in they celebrity fight club" LOL.
4. What's Good - 4/5. Hard west coast music. Good Kokane hook. Heard on the EP of course. A banging record overall.

5. Walkin' in my Taylors - 4/5. Hard beat. Again, what you expect to hear from WC right here. Tight shit for sure.
6. That's What I'm Talking About - 4/5. We've all heard it. The first buzz single & video dropped way back. Typical dope ass WC for sure.

7. Stickin' to the Script - 4/5. Soopafly been added to the final version. Nice to see such a west coast posse record. The beat knocks so hard. WC's verse is tight. Who does the hook? I like the creative direction they took it in. Bad Lucc is a dope emcee; need to hear more from him. Daz' verse is ok; heard Kurupt spit better before as well. Felt like he was just saying shit to rhyme lol. Is that Soopafly on the hook? Because I don't hear a verse.

8. 100% Legit - 4.5/5. Woah, my favorite beat on here. The beat is so damn funky & the sample works so well. WC fit it so well too. Better than most tracks on here.
9. D Boy - 4/5. Beat hard. Story telling raps here; d boy shit lol. Real good hook from WC. Another great album cut right here.

10. Hustla' - 4.25/5 Never expected to see a WC/Juvenile collabo. Real bangin beat & hook. Wonder who that is on the chorus. WC spits nice. This track is kind of a blend between a west & south sound and it works. Juve spits nice too.

11. The Spot - 4.5/5. Another dope beat. Great west coast smooth shit. Hook is cool. WC spits nice. Maylay's verse is beyond dope. Great cut.
12. Dub C - 4/5. The orchestra voice actually goes well with this hard hitting west coast beat. Great closer!

Overall, very very very good album. Exactly what fans expect to hope from a WC album. No "flavor of the month" shit here. WC knows what his loyal fans want and he delivered as we all knew he would. Not a single disappointment here.

To this day never understood why so many were sayin gba was instant classic. Production should have been much better
