"Detox" is a myth -- Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster, Area 51, Iraq having WMD, Detox...you get it now?  It was invented by the Aftermath marketing department to maintain the fans' attention.  Notice how everytime a new Aftermath album is ready to come out, they always mention Detox is next up?  Because they are using the invention of "Detox" as a way to market other albums.  The sooner you realize that Detox is NOT REAL, the sooner you'll feel liberated.  Oh yeah, f.u. Aftermath for fooling us fans.

I just listened through the album again, and have to ask this question:

Why would Snoop put two tracks on the album (back-to-back nonetheless) that use the same exact sample?

"Eyez Closed" and  "Raised in Da Hood"  both sample Jimmy Spicer "Money (Dollar Bill Y'all)" (the same one Maino used for "Hi Hater"). Seems like "Eyez Closed" used a slowed down version.

1. Toyz' 'N Da' Hood - N/A. Funky intro. You know Snoop always has sick Intro's. Bootsy Collins or George Clinton are always on one  :D
2. The Way Life Used To Be - 4.25/5. Funky Battlecat beat. Love it! Snoop raps real nice on here. Very good start  8)
3. My Own Way - 3.5/5. Beat is pretty simple and takes a backseat. I really like Mr. Porter hooks; always have. The beat is too simple to take this song to the next level.

4. Wonder What I Do - 3.75/5. Battlecat again, my God. Uncle Chucc has a hell of a voice. Pretty cool and funky. Snoop is cool on this too.
5. My Fuckin' House - 3.5/5 Beat BANGS. Jeezy fits it well. That "my fuckin house" in the background is annoying though. E-40 sounds cool on it too. I like it for what it is.
6. Peer Pressure - 4.5/5. Fredwreck! Beat is awesome. Sounds A LOT like "Crazy." Traci Nelson smashes it too. Very good authentic west sounding record.

7. I Don't Need No Bitch - 4.5/5. We all heard it. Dope ass song. Can't go wrong with Khalil/Kobe. So cool to see Devin on this too. Bangin' record.
8. Platinum - 2.75/5 Snoop & Kells! Lex Luger (no surprise). This is ehh. "That's That Shit" was way better. Does nothing for me at all.
9. Boom - 4/5. A Scott Storch single?!? Beat is bangin' for a mainstream record. T-Pain does a good job. This is a real cool record! Play this in the car on the way to the club.

10. We Rest 'N Cali - 3.75/5. This is cool. Beat is funky and cool. Smooth, funky Bootsy Collins. Nice to see Goldie Loc on here too. Cool record overall.
11. El Lay - 3.75/5. Smooth. Scoop Deville is cool. Never heard of this Marty James but it's a smooth hook. Wtf is that Tray Deee at the end?! Thought he HATED Snoop.
12. Gangbang Rookie - 3.5/5. Straight gangsta shit Snoop does best. I fuck with this heavy. They got a real youngin' rappin' on here lol.

13. The Weed Iz Mine - 4/5. Has a cool old school vibe to it. This just has a dope funk level to it. Wiz Khalifa sounds great on it too. Very cool record. Who's the girl on it?
14. Wet - 2/5. The first single. It serves it's mainstream purpose. I can't fuck with it though.
15. Take U Home - 5/5. Nice to see Meech Wells! This is pure funk  8) Kokane kills the hook and Too $hort sounds dope as fuck on it too. Daz & Snoop sound tight too.

16. Sumthin' Like This Night - 2.5/5. Snoop always has at least 1-2 weird collaborations. This is ehh. Not terrible, but doesn't really do anything for me.
17. Superman - N/A. Lol it's hard to hate on this. Definitely not my cup of tea as a hip-hop fan but it's straight comedy. I'm not even gonna rate it  :P

18. Eyez Closed - 2.75/5 Beat is alright; heard much better from Kanye. Sounds like he gave him a throwaway. John Legend is dope as fuck. I had higher hopes for this. The beat is just coasting; very boring. And wow to add to the disappointment, Kanye used the same verse during the GOOD Friday songs (the cypher? - I know I've heard it).

19. Raised In Da' Hood - 3.75/5. Baby Dubb on the beat. This is cool; funky. Snoop's flow and raps on point. I dig this.
20. It's D' Only Thang - 3/5. Hook is ehh. Beat is ok. Not an awful song but doesn't have any replay value really.
21. Cold Game - 4.5/5. The last song on Snoop albums are always sick lol. Who produced the beat? Latoiya Williams has a beautiful voice as always.

Overall much better than Ego Trippin' & Malice N' Wonderland. Snoop always has plenty filler because his albums are so long.

1. Toyz N Da Hood
2. The Way Life Used To Be
3. My Own Way
4. Wonder What I Do
5. Peer Pressure
6. I Don't Need No Bitch
7. Boom
8. We Rest N Cali
9. El Lay
10. Gangbang Rookie
11. This Weed Iz Mine
12. Take U Home
13. Raised N Da Hood
14. Cold Game

Would have a made a near classic album  8)

Snoop must be planning a lot of promo for this album as there's no UK specific date from the release.

I wanna order this and not download it but check out this price on amazon

£37.76 = $60.00 USD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o

order from amazon.com it will cost you
Items: GBP 6.34
Shipping & Handling: GBP 4.11

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Total Before Tax: GBP 10.45
Estimated Tax To Be Collected: GBP 0.00

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Order Total: GBP 10.45

Done!!! Thanks OG ;)

I get all my west coast albums from amazon.com, uk version just rips you off with the whole import thing.

Where does this rank in snoops catalogue, i was close to giving up on him after malice !

Snoop seriously needs to drop that 21 track bullsh*t he's on... too much filler... if he narrowed it down to the best songs he could easily make classic albums...

01.  Toyz N Da Hood Ft. Bootsy Collins - 4/5, dope funky intro, reminds me of "Intrology" kinda
02.  The Way Life Used To Be - 4.5/5, nice solo opener for Snoop
03.  My Own Way Ft. Mr. Porter - 4/5, laid back production and hook from Mr. Porter, Snoop sounds good here
04.  Wonder What I Do Ft. Uncle Chucc - 4/5, another funk inspired cut that works
05.  My Fucn House Ft. Young Jeezy And E-40 - 4/5, I personally find this to be a banger though I know some won't like this cuz Jeezy is here, but all 3 do their thing
06.  Peer Pressure Ft. Traci Nelson 4.5/5, vintage Snoop, sounds kinda like "Crazy" with some of the elements in the beat, love the hook as well
07.  I Dont Need No Bitch Ft. Devin The Dude And Kobe Honeycutt - 5/5, the track that officially had me hyped for this album, top notch verses from Snoop and Devin and Kobe KILLS this hook, beat is also on some Detox shit
08.  Platinum Ft. R. Kelly - 3.5/5, R. Kelly rapping the first verse surprised me, he only had a few corny lines nut nothing really 'wack', Snoop actually killed this flow-wise, decent party/club banger and Lex Luger switched the sound up nicely
09.  Boom Ft. T-Pain - 4/5, WHOA this is actually knockin'! this should have been the lead single
10.  We Rest In Cali Ft. Goldie Loc And Bootsy Collins - 4.5/5, great to see Goldic Loc on here, overall just a dope West Coast record even though there's nothing we haven't heard before content-wise in it
11.  El Lay Ft. Marty James 3.5/5, Marty James was aiight but this song could have been much better with another singer, Snoop's verses were dope and the beat is smooth
12.  Gangbang Rookie Ft. Pilot - 5/5. another vintage gangsta record from Snoop and even that little dude Pilot kills this shit, love it
13.  The Weed Iz Mine Ft. Wiz Khalifa - 4.5/5, Snoop and Wiz are now 3/3 with their collaborations and this one might just be their best if it has more replay value than "That Good", really feeling this joint and can't wait to spark up later to it
14.  Wet - N/A, never listened to the entire song and don't plan on it, not my cup of tea but I understand Snoop wants to appeal to all different audiences, this one just ain't me so it's a skipper
15.  Take U Home Ft. Too Short, Daz And Kokane - 4/5, West Coast posse track, would have loved to hear Kurupt on this one
16.  Sumthin Like This Night Ft. Gorillaz - 4/5, never really did hear much of Gorillaz' music but I knew this would be something hit/miss considering the 2 genres, and it's a hit for me
17.  Superman Ft. Willie Nelson - N/A, I won't bash this because I look at it as more of a skit/interlude and once again Snoop just tryin' to appeal by having Willie Nelson's name on here
18.  Eyez Closed Ft. Kanye West And John Legend - 4/5, expected something a little different but this is still dope, beat has the same sample as Maino's "Hi Hater" and Kanye's verse was recycled but it still fit the song
19.  Raised In Da Hood - 3.5/5, cool track but nothing too special
20.  Its D Only Thang - 4/5, David Banner came through with a dope track, Snoop wrecked it
21.  Cold Game Ft. Latoiya Williams - 4.5/5, great way to close out the album, great vocals from Latoiya

overall the album gets a solid 4/5 from me, Snoop really surprised with this one... the majority of the album has the sound that his core fans want to hear, while still balancing out with the minimal poppy tracks to get the chicks/younger generation, and out of the 21 songs there are 18 that are keepers, I had a feeling this would be his best record since TBCT and I'm happy I was right... guaranteed purchase from me  8)

best tracks right now for me: "I Don't Need No Bitch", "Gangbang Rookie", "The Weed Iz Mine", "The Way Life Used To Be", "Cold Game"

this will be the first Snoop album I cop since Ego Trippin

Wow, you really skipped purchasing a lot of Snoop albums then...  ;)

not really, considering I own:

Doggystyle
Doggfather (sold it though)
Tha Last Meal
R&G
Blue Carpet Treatment
Ego Trippin
Doggumentary (will be copped in a week)

since I got negged I'm sure that was you assuming I only liked Snoop's new material, so I'll take my prop back please  8)
