it's weird, right? scott storch is sometimes capbable of making a really dope beat on his own ..and other times he makes "let's ride (strib club)" (Doctor's Advocate). Boom has that old school 80s vibe down with the melody (I believe that's a replayed melody cause it sounds horribly familiar). total B-Boy beat. and T-Pain isn't even that annoying (and vocoder-free!)

It needed more G Funk.  Plus it was a little slim on the pickens and his hooks just didn't do it.  The Country song with Willie Nelson was aight [definitely better than "My Medicine"].  But when I say G Funk I think like how come the G Funk sound hasn't evolved into something that 'sounds' like Eryka Badu's records?.  Like where's the acoustics at?  Where's that sine or whatever wave sound u can tweek?  Most importantly, where are their voices at?  No matter how much Snoop and Dre in particular wanna get away from that G Funk sound they can't escape it, the people really do wanna hear that from them; from Senior Citizens to Babies.  Just rap about real life with some passion and god rest his soul have Nate Dogg on the hook {keep up with me now} or have sound older artist like Chaka Khan or some unsung heroin on the hook or no hook at all, uknow.  


I wish Snoop would talk about something interesting.  Like where's "Lodi Dodi Part 2" at, that beat would be sicker than the original off some "super mindfuck shit"™.

after hearing it a few times I like about half the album. the other half is filler IMO

fuck the west...east...south...north....fuck supporting someone based on where theyre from....

support the effort made into making GOOD music...i bought this...glad i did its snoops most solid album in over 10 years...

needless to say there is still some improvement to be done...fucking wack ass gorillaz track, willie nelson garbage, kanye track sucks as well..a few others...but still..the good over powers the bad on this one...

Just bought this album and I'm a few tracks deep, The Way Life Used To Be is dope. And I see Snoop is still Snoop, 20+ tracks...

then you heard the wrong tracks. of course it doesn't sound like some 95 G-funk, but a handful of tracks sound like your 2000-era westcoast stuff or more modern evolutions of that style!
