Dr. Dre's 'Detox' Keeps Game's New LP Shelved
« on: April 13, 2011, 11:00:26 PM »
West Coast rapper Game has opened up about his delayed R.E.D. Album and why Dr. Dre's long-awaited Detox release is ultimately holding up the LP.

According to Game, the solo project is still awaiting Dre's contributions.

"[The] release date [is] probably late July or early August, man. I'll let [producer] Jimmy Iovine put that red paint on the calendar and give us a specific date," the Game said. "All I know is that the album is almost finished. Dre is finishing up Detox and then he going to help me finish up mine. I'm like 90, 95 percent done. Just waiting on Dre to finish his project and then come on over and lend his ear and probably mix a couple of songs, especially the ones that he did, and we're going to see it in stores." (MTV)

The Black Wall Street leader recently cited his unreleased project as album of the year worthy.

"The 'R.E.D.' album is going to remind everybody of what hip-hop is supposed to be in its prime," says Game. "The 'R.E.D.' album will be the best album this year hands down. There's nobody putting out an album this year that will even be able to compete with the skill level-- the bar is gonna be set after this album drops. I guarantee it now from start to finish." (Billboard)

I wouldn't hate on Game dude can come correct when he's on.  Sometimes he has too many tracks and he gets stuck trying to pick the right 15 for the album but he's dope.  I mean, if you had recorded 300 tracks like L.A.X. and picked the wrong 15 because you're confused you're feelin so much of your own music.  Game needs a better executive producer to pick the tracks for him but he can make a double album to be dope...he picks wrong singles sometimes.  But don't sell him short, when he puts his effort into his music he can do it.

Game sounds fine with guys like Khalil, Hi-Tek, Just Blaze, etc.

it's not that important to get Dre these days in my opinion

Lol. At Dre's pace this will take another year and a half.....

I'm so sick of this Detox bullshit. Release the fucker already. I have lost a lot of respect for Dre over the past 5 years...

^ word

Especially after reading articles / interviews about how quik finished his first album in 17 days or how "no one can do it better" only took a months worth of weekends to complete. I won't even mention makaveli being completed start to finish (meaning writing, recording, and mixing) in only 7 days.

10 years is outrageous.
