If you could choose producers and guests for Oh My God
« on: January 12, 2003, 02:24:21 PM »
If it was you executive producing Ra's next album what producers would you have and how many tracks by each, and if any, what guests would you have?

I'd have Dre do 6 tracks BY HIS DAMNSELF, 3 Primo joints, a Dre/Primo joint, 1 or 2 Alchemist joints, maybe Ayatollah for 1, and then have a few Hi-Tek/Dre produced songs and maybe one Pete Rock or Rza joint. I would ideally like to have one guest emcee and that would be Big Daddy Kane cos he's still tight in my opinion and i wanna hear them do a joint together (Just Ryhming With RaKane?).

Charlie, lost his life right in front of the party...

If I could do it?  No, this is how it should be...

Dre does the whole album...no guest appearences.

You don't see that anymore...Just Dre doing a whole album, last time were heard that was on "2001," but even then we had Mel co-produce and Finesse did one song.

The last time was in '93 for "Doggystyle."  Shit that was long ago.

Also, just have 100% Ra...that would be cool.  Maybe some people to sing hooks, but that's about it.

^^^ I'm with that.  Ra and Dre can handle it themselves.

10 - 14 tracks.  No skits and no intro (maybe one like the Stillmatic or Chronic intro).

This would make the perfect album.

Dre didn't do all of "Doggystyle"...Warren and Daz did/helped on some joints without credit...

I'd have it like this...

Dre = 10 cuts
Primo = 2 cuts
Alchemist = 1 cut
Hi-Tek = 1 cut

Guests = Eminem, Dr Dre, Xzibit, and Ras Kass

Show me proof that Daz & Warren produced the album.

Dre - 5 Tracks
Premo - 5 Tracks
Pete Rock - 1 Track
DJ Clark Kent - 1 Track
Alchemist - 1 Track
Kanye West - 1 Track
Eric B- 1 Track

As far as guests, I don't want that many but these would be good:
Guru
Nas
Big Daddy Kane
Kool G Rap

Also, on the tracks that Dre does, I think that they should still get Premo or someone else to do scratched hooks, like Yella did for him on the NWA albums cause this would sound dope, and will certainly be much better than getting singers to do hooks.

Unfortunately Dre is bound to put Truth Hurts on a hook, and we will probably see at least Eminem, if not Cube or 50 Cent as well on this album somewhere. I just hope that just because Dre is on here that Rakim doesn't lose his real NY sound.

Murrow: are you trying to tell me that Ain't No Fun doesn't sound like a Warren G beat more than a Dre one. Also, even if he didn't fully produce it I think Warren G played a big part in producing Gz and Hustlaz, cause he used exactly the same sample to produce nearly the same beat for 2 Pac & Richie Rich on Lie To Kick It.

What would be dope but won't happen would be a disk with no guest appearences at all and just Dre and Primo working together to supply the beats, then another disk, a bonus disk if you will, with about 5-6 tracks with guest appearences from the likes of Nas, Guru, Cube, Em, Dre, and each track would have a different producer to give various types of flavas/styles.

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.
