Kokane - 4 Ryders Only
« on: January 10, 2003, 11:09:38 AM »
Copped this today - a CD maxi-single from back in 1996. Shit is bumpin' - Kokane and Cold 187 go back and forth talkin' shit, scattin' and singing over a sample of Rick Jame's Mary Jane. The remix is even hotter, with a straight classic Cold 187 beat - reminds me of some Uncle Sam's Curse shit.

Just wanted to know if anyone else knew of the track, 'cause I'd never heard of it til I found it today. Which album would this have been from in 96??

kokane, hutch & a rick james sample!!!  :o :o
sounds dope, can you hook me up with the song?

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

Best I can do is rip it and put in in my Kaaza folder, which I'll do this weekend. Anything beyond that is beyond my technical capabilties I'm afraid.  :(
