how exactly did kurupt (and rage) hook up with dre?

For as much shit as I know about the history of west coast rap, I was never too sure how my favorite rapper got his start.

I know doc and dre were together (no homo) since ruthless and how they met. And I know dre linking up with snoop, nate, daz, and rbx was all because of warren g hooking dre up with snoop.

For rage I always heard dre heard her demo from some group she was working with or some shit. Some fill in the blanks for me.

And for kurupt, I've heard a few different stories. One was that he was already down with daz and that's how he met dre (which I doubt). Another story was that he was at a party at dre's house and he wanted to rap for dre. Dre agreed but warned him that if he wasn't feeling his freestyle they were gonna throw him in the pool. Kurupt blacked the fuck out and that was that.

Anyone know for sure?

don't quote me word for word on this but...

some event, party, whatever you want to call it - both snoop and kurupt were there and never knew each other at the time.  supposedly kurupt out freestyled snoop and snoop was impressed and took him to me the deathrow posse.

Kurupt started his career, before Snoop and Daz. he was on a mainstream-cd back in 1991, before he even met Dre or Snoop

"kurupt came in independently through his manager" i remember that quote from an interview somewhere.

i forget story of how rage came in. its around somewhere.

^ I youtubed sos band kurupt and there are 2 songs. "Someone to love" was dope; kurupt was soo ill at the beginning of his career, sad how badly he fell off =(
