NBA Draft 2011.
« on: June 23, 2011, 06:22:46 PM »
Sixers took Vucevic. He was pretty dope in college. Hopefully he transitions well to the NBA game.

Cleveland didn't impress me.

Marshon Brooks will be a steal & a half if anyone ever takes him.

Redick will have a better career. Jimmer will get locked down in the NBA & he can't play defense for his life.

They both shooter 3's. The difference being Jimmer takes 30 a game, by "creating his own shot" (aka chucking) & neither can play defense.

I miss the days that the draft was actually relevant to my town. Anyways, if I had been the Cavs I woulda taken Williams then either Knight or Walker. Not that Irving won't be a good player but Williams seems like more of a sure thing IMO. I don't know much about the kid they drafted at 4 but generally I don't think that foreign players should be taken that high.

Kanter (at three) has potential to be really good. He just can't play a complete bitch.

As for the Cavs taking Kyrie, Knight is nothing but a shooter. At best, he'll peak out to be like an Eddie House or an Aaron Brooks. I'd give him like a 5% chance he has a Jason Terry-like career.

I truly think Kemba is going to be ass. I hope he proves me wrong, but he takes way to many shots & shoots a pretty low percentage. What he has working for him in college is he hit a lot of big shots late in games for him & basically took over. But it's hard to judge considering the lack of talented defense he saw compared to what the NBA is going to throw at him.

I think it was the right pick because Kyrie will at worst be an average starting PG in the league or a multiple time all-star. Williams played against nobody in college. He'll be Andre Iguodala-like at his peak, just a better shooter, which is great. The problem is, if he starts shooting lights out (shot 60% from three in college :o) coaches will slap their best defender on him & he could be almost irrelevant lol.

I personally think the Cavs made the right first pick, I don't know about their 4th pick though. Sucks they had two picks in the top five this year. Next year with Sullinger & Barnes...damn, those two could be great, especially Barnes out of UNC.
