MBDTF isn't my favourite Kanye Album, or even my second favourite (College Dropout, Graduation), but the album is CLASSIC in the truest sense of the word.  THe only song that isn't all that is Monster, but people seem to love that shit.  Rick Ross wasn't necessary on Devil either, but these are minor flaws compared to the overall feel of the album.  Rhianna on All of the Lights is annyoing as shit too.  Musically, though,l the album  far exceeds almost every hiphop album ever made.   Hiphop heads don't seem to love it, but fans of indie type shit (ie music snobs) think its the greatest album of the year.  The reviews from highly critical sites like Pitchfork were glowing with praise.

Kanye isn't for everyone, this much is clear.  But he puts more effort into creating unique, yet accessible music, than anyone else in hiphop.

I agree with Jaydc, he's 4 for 4, and all of the albums stand alone.

However, what Kanye has been lacking lately is with his subject matter, and it appears WTT will be more of the same (especially with Jay on every song).  Looking forward to the album, but not loving anything off it so far

Just because you're an indie fan, doesn't necessarily mean they are music snobs.  I'm into all kinds of music, and probably the type of music that stands out the most is the "indie" ones.  Snob? I'm far from it.  Really, every genre has their snobs.

Hip Hop Snobs on A Tribe Called Quest's Electric Relaxation

"182 people think Lil Wayne is a good rapper."
"Lil Wayne watched this video 182 times. Says real hip hop makes him feel "untalented". NEWSFLASH..a lot of people feel that way about you. Vanilla Ice thinks you're a joke."

Most popular comments lol

And practically every hip hop song from this era has similar type of comments.

And it's coming from a mainstream artist, which makes it that much more special.

Kanyes albums FEEL like albums. Thier very cohesive and you can tell he spends a lot of time and effort making them. Each one is crafted exactly how he wants to sound, everything is mixed and mastered to it's full potential. If rappers spent half the time kanye does hip hop would be releasing a lot more quality albums. Most artists lack any kind of vision and thier albums feel like songs slapped together, like a snoop or game album. Some people can not like kanye but you have to respect his effort. He cares about the music. Same with cudi, I'm not huge on cudi but his albums are well crafted and not songs slapped together with a who's who of whatevers hot at the moment.

imo Ye's last album is his second best. Still like his debut better.

Am I the only one who thinks "Graduation" is his best?

"Drunken Hot Girls" was the worst song & that's such a chill vibe song.

Graduation is his worst hip hop album. That song with lil wayne was horrible. Drunken Hot Girls was a stupid meaningless song with a good beat while Barry Bonds was unlistenable. The rest was great though.
