Dre's Voice
« on: August 20, 2011, 09:04:55 AM »
Why did Dre decide to change his voice on some of these tracks? For the most part, it sounds terrible.  Go listen to "Drug Test, "Chillin," and several of the other tracks.  Imagine him bustin these verses with his "Let Me Ride," "Dre Day," "Keep Their Heads Ringin," "Watcher" voice.  When he uses his raw laid back delivery he's badass; and that's his signature voice and flow.  It's worked and established his greatness over the years, I don't know or understand why he would try to mess with that.  Maybe he's tryin to become some Eminem-type rapper with this awkward flow and voice, but it sure doesn't work for me, and I would guess that the majority of his fans want to hear the OG raw Dre and it shows by the mediore reception he's gotten on these tracks where he changes.

dre has always been picky about his vocals. These new songs sound like he's comfortable with his voice for the fist time in his career

let him keep experimenting with it. Atleast he's not doing like eminem or 50 and yelling or using gay accents

i liked that ultra-deep voice he used on crack a bottle and that kardinal offishal remix song.... his "2009" voice, lol.

i thought that was gonna be his detox voice, but apparently not.......

Those songs still wouldn't be good even with a change in delivery.

you guys realize it probably isn't Dre who decides? Blame it on whoever's laying out reference tracks for him
