After a day of sales, Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV projects to have one of the highest first-week sales of any album this year.

According to Billboard, the long-awaited album, which was released after the MTV Video Music Awards at 12:00 AM, is on pace to sell 850,000 to 900.000 units.

The album will almost certainly take the No. 1 spot, with the Red Hot Chili Peppers' I'm With You likely coming in second with 175,000 to 200,000.

Wayne's latest, if the projections hold true, will have the highest first-week sales for a Hip Hop album since Tha Carter III, which sold 1.01 million in its first week in 2008.

Carter IV will be Wayne's third No. 1 album.

Wtf? That's crazy I didn't even hear much of a buzz for this album. Carter 3 was all people were talking about, I assumed people were finally over him after those 2 wack albums and Drake's takeover at YM.

Ahh well props I guess.

"How To Love" is a significantly smaller single than "Lollipop".

^^^^ why not ? .. Numbers seem very high when you take into consideration the buzz around this album (which isn't nearly as important as the one around Carter III)  ... this one wont sell 3.5 millions like the Carter III

wayne's fan base has been growing since Carter III.....when Carter III came out, this was just when White people (or in more politically correct terms, people outside the urban population or outside the population listening to urban music) started to pay attention to him.....now, this guy is known by EVERYONE, and i mean fuckin everyone, from teachers to politicians, and most of that is from his image, not his singles........so yeah, im not surprised at the sales, most people are probably buying the album out of curiosity just to see what kind of crazy shit he will say, single or no single......
