Norway to require cab drivers to attend a class on manners

Cabbies must learn manners

The Norwegian Taxi-owners Association will start a mandatory course for all cab drivers, including an introduction to professional ethics and customer relations. The group says current standards just aren't good enough.

NTA director Wiggo Korsnes told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) that education for drivers varies from place to place and that the attitude of many cabbies is inadequate.
Korsnes told NRK that drivers have a great responsibility since they are alone with passengers late at night, and referred to several incidents where taxi drivers have assaulted passengers.

The Ministry of Transport welcomed the initiative, and a spokesman said that it was a natural solution for the profession to police itself by introducing courses.

IN charlotte they kinda do the same thing, LOL.  At the airport, you can complain about cabbies manners, etc. and get them fired, etc.

I read all sorts of newspapers. The Norwegian ones are the bomb.
I'm part Norwegian as well, although I am not in touch with that part of my heritage.
I dig on Norway tho, if it wasn't for the cold, I might even consider moving there!
