Oh, it's miles & miles below "The Eminem Show". But I view that as a classic. So almost anything he put out after that album was going to sound worse. Encore was solid album with a few completely awful songs. It just got an awful reception due to the fact Eminem's work prior to that was all classic. If it was any other white rappers debut, it would have been looked at much better.

this is kinda what fucks me up about people callin' Eminem the GOAT.  After the "8 Mile Soundtrack" it was pretty much downhill from there.  Even the song with Game for "The Documentary" wasn't really all that replayable.

I remember listening to Encore and all the sudden hearing a song with puke noise. Crazy thing was people thought the album was dope. Some songs on Encore are completely trash.

Thats the thing about taste. I actually like Encore, it has some weak tracks, but still it is very solid album. Concept was a bit crazy, but that didnt bother me, it even made the album better in some way. I find 'Rain man' a dope song, where somebody else can call it str8 trash. But thats the point of view.

Eminem's work quality went downhill after his verses on "Cheers" ... Encore was a joke of an album , same for Relapse on which he ruined solid beats with his BS accent and non sense lyrics and Recovery had some poppy generic songs , most of the remaining tracks being ruined by the shouting ...

Just sounds like the album was purely aimed at a pop audience.

Whats the best track on the album?

cmon man, worst song?...surely you musta forgotten about "FACK" (which im sure came from the same sessions) lol, this Weenie song did ruin a good beat, couldnt play it it front of the homies or cruise to it. If only someone else had gotten it and made a killer song, "A Dogg" put out alil clip of snoop dogg (drop it like its hot acapella) over the beat, SOUNDED HOT but never heard the rest  :-\

Same thing thats been wrong with him for the past 8 years. I've not heard a succession of two songs or more in a row from any of his albums or guest appearances that haven't been shit from him. FOR 8 YEARS. He's a rapper that 14 year olds relate to, and his lyrics and beats have suggested over his last few albums that he sees that also as his target audience.

Which is such a shame because of the strength of his first two LPs he could have been one of the greatest of all time.
