fter being bumped from a championship fight with Georges St-Pierre in favor of Nick Diaz, Carlos Condit (27-5 MMA, 4-1 UFC) has his new target.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has learned from sources close to the promotion that Condit and Josh Koscheck (16-5 MMA, 14-5 UFC) have verbally agreed to meet at UFC 143 in February.

UFC president Dana White revealed the likelihood of the potential booking at Saturday night's UFC 138 post-event press conference in Birmingham, England.

"Right now, Carlos Condit wants to fight," White said. "He wants to fight on the same card as GSP and Diaz, so we'll see what happens. Koscheck has been offered.

"It could be with Koscheck. Condit wanted that fight."

According to several sources MMAjunkie.com spoke with on Saturday evening, Condit now has it.

UFC brass have yet to officially announce UFC 143, but the event is expected to take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. St-Pierre defends his welterweight title against Diaz in the main event.

Condit was expected to face St-Pierre at UFC 143 before a post-UFC 137 outburst led the champ to request Diaz, instead. White also revealed that night that Condit is next line should he prove victorious in his next fight, which now appears to be against Koscheck.

Koscheck fought most recently at September's UFC 135 event, where he downed UFC Hall of Famer Matt Hughes via first-round knockout. The win was Koscheck's first fight since suffering a broken orbital bone in a UFC 124 loss to St-Pierre.
