I'm sorry but comparing Lloyd Banks, some pussy ass ROC rapper to the lyrical GOD that is Rakim is pure stupidity. Damn, even though Rakim had two verses last year on the Truth Hurts joint and the Watcher Part 2, in those two average by Rakim standard verses he eclipsed Lloyd Banks whole career.

Lloyd Banks on the ROC ??? ??? ???

rakim had the worst verse on 'the watcher part 2' and the one with truth hurts wasnt too hot either,

Lloyd Banks freestyle over the victory beat is better than anything Rakim has put out for many years.

seriously listen to some rakim then come back and talk about hiphop

only people would wait this long for a rakim album rakim would shit all over  them roc rappers wait until he drops and 50 cents album was huge idont think any roc rapper will sell that much this year

dont get the hype for rakim. i would understand if he dropped some classic verses since he's been on the aftermath but it hasnt happened. he is a legend but his time has passed.

obie trices new album > rakims new album
you must be trippin man.....only three verses have been dropped by rakim since he been on aftermath......watcher 2, addictive, and R.A.K.I.M. and i thought they where all fuckin tight.....DRE Production and Rakim Verses....ohhhhhwwweee we gonna have some fuckin hot shit.....just wait til the album drops.....Obie has been sounding really good as of late as well tho.....i think obie will have a great album as well......AFTERMATH/SHADY for sure no competition honestly......all the ROC releases have been just ok....and as far as successfulness (if thats a word?) 50 cent cd has been more succesful then all the ROC releases put together this year

I don't follow ROC too much, and whut I do kno is very little, so I'll only comment on the Shady/Aftermath camp.

Eminem is dope, always has been, always will, I'm sure he'll have some verses on other people's albums throughout the year and anything he comes with can beat off anyone from ROC.

50 already put it down with a hot album this year, enough said.

G-Unit might get their group album in by the end of the year, and Banks Yayo and 50 are all good, so I'd expect this to be hot. Throw in Young Buck and some other potential rappers from 50's camp and it's lookin' good.

Lloyd Banks has some of the nicest punchlines I've heard in rapping, and he is only 21 years old! This kid's LP which should come out this year is likely gonna be tight.

D12 is supposively coming out with another album, and I think it will be better than the last, which was great anyways. Proof and Swifty are very nice, both could do good solo. Kuniva and Kon Artis are sub-par, but they consistently drop decent verses, and the occasionl good ones. Bizarre is hit or miss.. some of his shyt is HILARIOUS, but some of it is just plain stupid and can completely ruin the song.

Dr. Dre is a legend, every beat he makes is great, and his final album Detox which is scheduled to be released early 2004(?) is gonna be dope no doubt.

Obie is showing some great potential recently, all of his verses have been off the hook, and I'm expecting the same from his album.

Ice Cube I haven't been following, but I've heard he's comin' out with an album which will be good, if not great.

Rakim's album SHOULD be great, I think Dre will deliver, he dam well better, cuz it's been a long 3 years!

I dunno the other rappers.. the people with low-profiles so far (Brooklyn, Joe Beast, etc), but I'm sure in time at least some of them will develop into something.

So.. this is whut ya got:

Eminem - Always due for dope verses here and there.
D12 - Droppin' an album, prolly gonna be hot.
Obie - Droppin' an album, prolly gonna be hot.
50 Cent - Already has a hot album this year.
Lloyd Banks - Droppin' an album, prolly gonna be hot.
G-Unit - Might get out an album, could be hot.
Dr. Dre - No1 produces better, will get his album in to kick off '04.
Ice Cube - Droppin' an album(?), could be hot.
Rakim - Droppin' an album, prolly gonna be hot.
Low-Profile Rappers - no clue.

That's tough to beat..
