This beat is the most average beat Dre ever has produced..
But if it were a Battlecat-beat, I think people would say that it's some of BC's better work, because it's only wack to Dre's standard..

Average.. but the hook is so damn catchy that it makes up for it..
The best track on the album was "Ohh" feat. Kurupt

POSSIBLY Tru, but to me battlecat is an extremely dope producer and that beat would be weak for JD!!!

i really liked this beat, guess we all got our own opinions

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

About 75% of his work, and that is enough for me, because I have a VERY good feeling what the remaining 25% will sound like..

The only creative shit he has done if for Knoc & L.A. Conf. Productions..
The shit he does for Snoop, Eastsidaz, TrayDeee & Dogghouse sounds pretty much all the same, just with a little twist from time to time.
And that also says a lot about his other productions.. what he gives to more unknown rappers is leftovers, and how exciting could that be?

But I guess we all have diff. tastes - if ppl think BC is dope, I'll stick to Premo, Alchemist, Dre, Rockwilder, Nottz, Wreck etc..

It's sooooooo obvious...Dre just ripped him off with a 10 second loop...The beat is just a loop repeating itself...Same with the beat too "Finer Thangzzz"...And Dre almost ALWAYS mixes every track he produces, but that  isn't the case with the tracks he produced for 40 Glocc...I mean, the beats for "Papa Lil Soldier" and "Finer Thangzzz" are tight, but they don't build up, they don'thave a chorus, they just stay the same throughout the whole song...Whatever though...It's all good...Both "Finer Thangzzz" and "Papa Lil Soldier" are dope songs IMO...PeACe

OK, but I take it you have never heard the stuff he's done with Spice 1, Tha Comrads, Short Khop, Domino etc? That's CLASSIC material there.

Don't just listen to all the commercial stuff...it goes a lot further than Snoop & Tha Eastsidaz. BC has been around a long ass time.

Strangely, I liked "Papa Lil Soldier". True: The beat is just a short loop and very repetitive but it still sounds quite nice and the hook is pretty dope too. Can't say the same about "Finer Thangzzz" - never got into that one...
