RAP WARS - The Thread
« on: March 28, 2012, 10:36:07 PM »

Since Hip Hop's inception rappers have found creative ways to insult & disparage one another in song.
While many early "Diss Tracks" were based on which MC had superior skills...sadly, nowadays most battles come down to "Who has the most money" & "How many people you've killed". Often no one is safe as...mothers, children and wives have all been used as targets. Some careers have been made off of "Beef" while some careers have ended. The truth in rap can often be blurred as long as it makes for a good punchline.

Here I will drop random tracks that fall under this category.
Some you may have heard & some you may not.
Feel free to discuss.

(A shout out is due to Chad Vader (M.I.A.  ???) who started the original "Beef thread")

Some diss songs posted may not be an entire track aimed @ others, such as Hit Em Up or Real Muthaphukkin G's.
I've chosen to include tracks containing a "verse" or subliminal aimed @ another rapper/MC.

P-Nutt - What Did I Do To You (50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Mobb Deep Diss)

http://batshare.com/sd5eyctg94fi/P-NUTT_What_Did_I_Do_To_You_(50_CENT,_MOBB_DEEP,_LLOYD_BANKS_DISS).mp3.html

Game's amigo that got shot outside of New York's Hot 97 decides to fire back @ 50 Cent & Co. with this song.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stack Bundles, Game, Joe Budden - Cross Country Connections (G-Unit Diss) DJ Clue
http://limelinx.com/files/0175b0148cf70e628521757022e4d9d0

http://batshare.com/nndb7rr17tv5/STACK_BUNDLES,_GAME,_JOE_BUDDEN_Cross_Country_Connections_(G-UNIT_DISS)_DJ_CLUE.mp3.html

This track is where Game vs. Joe Budden originated from....."He should be in the G-Unit Vid with all the gangsta actors" line.
Game would later go on record talking much greasier about G-Unit.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

J Hood - Kiss My Ass (Jadakiss Diss)
http://limelinx.com/files/0236829dd231570995a76e67c3ab7b44

After leaving D-Block, dragging his D-Block chain, J Hood releases a slew of tracks going @ the Lox.
Here is one of them.

Eminem ft. Dr. Dre - Say What You Say (Jermaine Dupri, Canibus  Diss)

Eminem & Xzibit - Short People (Jermaine Dupri Diss) DJ Kay Slay

Jermaine Dupri - J.D.'s Reply (Eminem, Dr. Dre, Timbaland Diss)

http://limelinx.com/files/fec8e2a2fbbd33c6de6e70f59e13b2bb

http://batshare.com/yxlqx7og8erw/JERMAINE_DUPRI_J.D.'s_Reply_(EMINEM,_DR._DRE,_TIMBALAND_DISS).mp3.html

This all stemmed from comments J.D. made while being interviewed by XXL.
Jermaine claimed he was the best producer in the game. Better than Dre or Timbaland.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Joell Ortiz - So So Chain (Jermaine Dupri Diss)

http://limelinx.com/files/acc7349a1fe569b1722901c58043f4af

http://batshare.com/3nyahsq4pq2i/JOELL_ORTIZ_So_So_Chain_(JERMAINE_DUPRI_DISS).mp3.html

Jermaine also had issues with "a soon to be" Aftermath employee.
Story behind this is that Joell performed at the 2004 EA sports Battle.
The winner was slated to win a spot on NBA Live 2005 soundtrack & spot on the So So Def roster.
Joell won. He recorded for the soundtrack but J.D. voided Joell's deal/signing with So So Def.
This was the result.

I didn't know "Nuttin' Ass Nigga" was directed towards Mac Dre. It sucks that they had beef and didn't record that many songs together before Dre passed away.

After recording a mixtape track & appearing alongside Game on The Documentary DVD it all went downhill.
Lil' Eazy accused Jayceon Taylor of capitalizing off his dad's success. The tattoo of Eazy-E didn't help things.

the whole E-40 / Mac Dre rivalry started with Lil Bruce & Mac Dre battling & dissing each other before Federal. 40 got involved after Lil Bruce, which was the reason for the whole Sick Wid It/Mac Dre rivalry. it's funny cause Lil Bruce ended up signing with Mac Dre and beefed with 40 & Legit even after Dre passed.

Quote
I didn't know "Nuttin' Ass Nigga" was directed towards Mac Dre.

there's a specific line directed at Mac Dre.

"not too long ago i'm off to the bank to cash my check / the lady teller wouldn't give me no damn respect / she started acting hella snotty kinda prejudiced / I guess she didn't like the way that a nigga was dressed / before i couldn't even get my foot in the door right / the bitch already had a brother like me stereotyped /
ready to push the button with no delay / i said wait a minute baby you must be mistaking me for André/ I'm not a frail tail rat head wanna be / I wouldn't rob a fucking bank for publicity / I do it honestly, legally so have no fear / I make more in a week than you do in a year." 40 refers to Mac Dre's involvement in the robberies of banks and pizza parlours by the Romper Room Gang.

off the same album (Federal), I've always interpreted the end of the namesake song as a diss towards Mac Dre too "California Livin' can't FUCK with me", but i've never read it anywhere so that's just my interpretation lol

I've always liked Mac Dre's Mac Mall dis "mac stabber", Dre lyrically killed Mac Mall & Khayree lol. awesome diss.

I forgot too.  :-\

I think it's a Hi-Tek beat.
The track is "Eye For An Eye" off G-Unit's Beg For Mercy album.
