Good things said by the 'baddies'
« on: April 12, 2012, 06:32:45 PM »
When you read some of the shit they said in isolation present them as decent, wise people.

IE Hitler.

"Mankind has grown strong in eternal struggles and it will only perish through eternal peace."

“The doom of a nation can be averted only by a storm of flowing passion, but only those who are passionate themselves can arouse passion in others.”

“Words build bridges into unexplored regions.”

“I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice”

Stalin
"One death is a tragedy; one million is a statistic."

Goebbels
"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it"

any more good quotes which were said by bad people?

Hitler:

The leader of genius must have the ability to make different opponents appear as if they belonged to one category.

Universal education is the most corroding and disintegrating poison that liberalism has ever invented for its own destruction

Whoever lights the torch of war in Europe can wish for nothing but chaos

Saddam Hussein:

Politics is when you say you are going to do one thing while intending to do another. Then you do neither what you said nor what you intended

America needs wisdom, not force. It had used force, along with the West, to its extreme extent, only to find out later that it did not achieve what they wanted

He pretended to care for the people of Iraq after he and other presidents before him have killed by the use of weapons, including depleted uranium, and by the blockade which is now more than 12 years old, more than 1 million and 700,000 innocent Iraqis out of a population of 25 million citizens

I do not respond to this so-called court, with all due respect to its people, and I retain my constitutional right as the president of Iraq . Neither do I recognize the body that has designated and authorized you, nor the aggression, because all that has been built on false basis is false

I like some of the Saddam quotes you find online that express his feelings towards the U.S. You can see that he is clearly a well liked leader if you do enough research (much like Qaddafi) and that a lot of the stuff he mentions goes against what is/was reported here in the West, and that a lot of blame was put onto him

I know.. They knew he wouldn't bend over for these corrupt politicians. These guys, Saddam and Qaddafi were loved by their people. Obviously outside, we hear that they committed mass murder, were tyrants, evil and crazy at the same time, but inside people tell a different story.

My grandfather worked in Libya, and made a lot of money there throughout the 70's and 80's, and from what he told me, Qaddafi was one of those people that the majority of people liked, unlike here in the UK where every PM no one really cares for.. And that was evident in the final days for both dictators, when they had ordinary people out fighting for them to the death. You would never get that here in the UK, or even in the U.S. Which is when I seen the war on Libya on the news here, and about all this murderous crap, and how there were "freedom" fighters out fighting for justice etc. I knew it was all B.S. Granted, these dudes did use a lot of money on pointless shyt, but they did have a more genuine care for the people than what our "democratically elected" officials do

Well it is disputed, Saddam did not like the Kurds in the north and it was believed for years that he gased his own people. People that I knew personally who went to Iraq said that Saddam was not likes, but rather really really feared. They say his attacks of the Kurds as a sign that he'd kill anyone who gets in his way.

For the other side though, Saddam did blame Iran for the attack.

We've seen too much of the same thing in our history. A person is believed to have committed this mass murder, or crime, and the West run in to save the day, and liberate the people.

I know a few people in Iran, who I used to speak with, and who were going to assist me only last year in getting a visa, transport and accomodation. I've heard nothing but praise. It's a lovely country, however ask the average joe bloggs here in the UK/US, and they will disagree telling all sorts of fictional storys of masked men beheading you on every corner, and how dangerous it is. A close friend of mine has visited Tehran before, and done all the walks and various shack stays, and everything I've heard from friends and on various travel forums including tripadvisor has been nothing but how nice the people are. How friendly they are. How one guy in the street stopped what he was doing to lead this women a mile up the road to show her to her destination. These are the kind of things you would never imagine, but there's another side to these places, and a whole other side to the people that run the country.

Go to New York city, and you think you'd get the same treatment and level of hospitality? lol. By anyones standards, if a country was based on how well they treat each other and strangers, then the US would be one of the shyttyest countries out there, with UK being right at the back of them

My father in-law worked for years in Iran. He didn't speak much about it to my wife, but he did eventually leave to immigrate to the United States. He was an engineer, so he traveled to find a job. So I can't really speak to the politics of Iran. But I know IRAQ with Saddam had some issues. People I know who went there before the war in 2003 said people were afraid to talk for fear of secret police. Saddam ran the country as a total police state. Does that mean he killed hundreds of Kurds, maybe, maybe not. As I said, Saddam blamed Iran. But he was not seen as a hero in Iraq, though some saw him as a protector because he was Sunni and the Shi'ite had the majority of the country. It would be like a black person being president of the United States and then forcing white people to accept this and treat the blacks as a ruling class. This is how people described Iraq who had actually been there. Did they think Saddam needed to be taken out, no; as the people I talked to said that the people of Iraq did not want a war in their country. Should we have gone to war with Iraq, no, as it made Iraq worst. But does this mean Saddam was a good person, no, he was a true police state dictator. But if we went to war with every police state dictator then we'd never, ever be out of war.
