Young Jeezy would probably agree that there's no limit to success, and this week the Atlanta rapper made some big business moves.

On Wednesday, Atlanta radio DJ Greg Street announced that the Snowman will take over duties as the Senior VP of A&R at Atlantic Records. First Jizzle's right-hand DJ Folk confirmed via Twitter and then this morning Young set the record straight.

"From the streets to the Boardroom. SVP of A&R at Atlantic Records I am. Let's Get It! #itstha world," he tweeted before following with: "Corporate thuggin to the max!"

"from the trap to the world to grammy nominations to the boardroom my n---a @YoungJeezy," Folk tweeted shortly after.

Throughout his career, Jeezy has served as an uncompromised voice of the streets. While he has mostly refused to go pop (outside of a few key guest appearances alongside Rihanna and Usher), Jeezy has consistently cashed in platinum and gold plaques beginning with his 2005 major label debut Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101. Young's most recent LP TM 103: Hustlerz Ambition is now certified gold, having already yielded a number of singles including the Ne-Yo-assisted "Leave You Alone."

As an executive, Jeezy has stood at the end of his CTE World (Corporate Thugz Entertainment) label, helping to guide the careers of up and coming MCs like Freddie Gibbs, Tone Trump and Boo Rossini.

What this latest move means for Jeezy's CTE artists is indefinite at this point. It is also unclear how the move may affect Young's career as a solo artist, he is currently signed to Def Jam Records.

T.I. Says Atlantic Records Asked For His Opinion On Young Jeezy Being Appointed SVP Of A&R

News of rapper Young Jeezy’s new Senior Vice President of A&R role at Atlantic Records may have hit the masses late last week, but according to T.I. he’s known about Jeezy’s A&R gig for quite some time now. During an interview with Chicago’s 107.5 WGCI the rapper revealed that not only did he know about Jeezy’s SVP position, but he was also approached by Atlantic Records to give his thoughts on Young Jeezy taking on such a role.

“I think that’s phenomenal for Young and I’ve known about it for quite some time now. He came and spoke to me and asked me how I felt about it as far as whether or not it was a good fit for him,” T.I. explained. “And they came and asked me how I felt about it whether I felt that he was a good fit for the position and what not and I think it’s phenomenal…Me and Young we got a personal relationship as well as a professional one. And it’s a mutual respect that goes a long way back.”

When asked if he could see himself in a similar position in music, T.I. went on to explain that with his extra time dedicated to acting and other projects he doesn’t see where such a role would fit into his schedule.

“Now as far as me, I don’t know if I could necessarily do it,” said the rapper. “When I’m not working on my projects or focusing on my label’s projects I’mma go do me some movies or I’mma be bouncing back and forth doing other things. So I just don’t know how much undivided attention I could dedicate to a position like that.”

T.I.’s eighth studio album Trouble Man is expected to be released sometime this fall.

I interviewed there last week, they were operating out of a broom closet. So, I guess this makes sense.
