Expression rappers should stop using..
« on: February 07, 2003, 04:32:13 PM »
"God"

This is corny as fuck.. rappers calling themselves gods..
I'm not in any way religious, but this is the worst trend since pink gangstas & dizzle-slang.
Ghostface got 43 warnings now, Jay-Z have a few, and Nas is soon to be hanged if he says it any more..
God's son.. pleeze!!
I hate half of the album, much due to the corny god-references..

"We're civilized gods" my ass..

Not to mention how 50 made Ghostface look like a wannabe clown on "I'm a ryder".
Ghost took the hint, but Nas obviously didn't..

When you see 'em, they be like "peace god" nahmean
"peace god" all that shit right, what happened to all that gangsta-shit?
"peace goood" some straight bitch-shit "peeez goood"

To use the expression of a man that nobody knows for sure exists is fine IMO.  If they belive he is real then they have every right to use his name!

Yeah, that God stuff is played out on wax.

another one I hate, is when they say "Know whum sayin? Know whum sayin?" all the time.

Dogg is almost played out.  As in "Yo Dogg" or "That's my Dogg".  OLD

I hate when they say Shorty too.  WTF?

Another thing I never got, is when a guy calls his girl his Boo.  Boo is a contraction of Beau, which is a french term for your boyfriend.  So he's calling her his boyfriend.  It should only be used when girls are talking about their boyfriend, it don't go both ways.

Yeah, the shizzle dizzle big snoopy do double gizzle thing is OLD news, he needs to drop it.  I don't mind when he says it once, but when he says the exact same phrase "for Shizzle Dizzle, Snoopy D O Double Gizzle" it sounds so old.  He's got a track where he says "Snoopy D O Gizzle in the place to be" or something like that, I think that's dope as hell, but when you're rhyming izzles with izzles it sucks really quick.

'Hater'. How many times do rappers have to say people are haters. Newsflash: people aren't hating, they just dont like you or, as is mostly the case, you suck.

'Nigga'. thats played out and theres too much shit surrounding the word, they need to make a new word

That's oh so wrong.
There's lots of haters out there.. some people hate even without checking out the artists work.
If that's not hating..

U heard Black Star - Hater Playas, they sum up the whole annoyance with that phrase perfectly on that track.

I actually like Snoop's dizzle bizzle -lingo, to a certain extent.

Actually, now that I think about it, I'm not bored with the words used in rap. (Except God. That shit should've never even started, shit is cooooooooorny.) I'm bored with a lot of the content: the bling bling and the glamour shit. Like Swizz Beats' (and a bunch other niggas') Big Business part 2: The beat is good and the flows are good, but the content is... hollow. Just when I thought the bling bling -stuff was dying out (with Baby selling a whole lot of his cars, not drivin' a Bentley no more), what do you get? The cats among the industry's richest bragging about their dough. Granted, it's a good listen and all, but it sure wont go down as no classic... nahmsayin'? ( ;D)

Reference to :Trauma Phillips

hmm.. this most definatly true?....its more likely to have come from beautiful  (or bootiful as that turkey man said) or baby,
which would make more sense....oh an french beau is a beloved one not truely just in reference to a male partner.... its just cos most objects in french are in feminine and references are in the masculin.

Just out of interest bro...?
